Potentially controversial, but I reckon McKay will be a flop. Yes he towers over the other 18 year olds but he looks soft. Tentative. Doesn't look to have the natural inclination to use his mass to out muscle his direct opponent let alone split a pack. In 5 years he may develop into a Jenkins type but that's not worth a first rounder in my book

Apparently this is the reason he has dropped down the draft order. The go home factor is a worry.

Listening to the road to the draft podacast and they brought up Burtons break and compared it to Stringers. They said that they were both as bad as each other with half the orthos saying Burtons type of break being worse and the other half saying Stringers was. When Stringer went to the combine he could hardly run, while Burton could run.
Before his leg he has up there with the top 2 for the draft.

If Milera is a flight risk and Francis is available you go Francis at 9 and Milera 13.

If Milera is a flight risk clubs would be crazy to grab him. Given his frame he will take a couple of years development and then he might be off.

I don't think Vic clubs are worried about SA kids being flight risks, not many of them leave. The northern clubs may be concerned but other than GC they have academy kids to take. GC would probably prefer an SA based flight risk over a Vic based flight risk as there will only be 2 teams making them offers to get them home instead of 10.

Curious- I go in again from the AFL page, find products is disabled. I go in through my history and I can access the page (but can't buy more as I maxed out my allotment).

That is pretty much exactly what I want. Can't see both being there though.

Could definitely be talked in to Francis & Collins. Sets our team up beautifully, gives us a 10 year elite level defence. If we could then trade in a class mid, we would be premiership material.

In rookie draft I'd then look for another KPF or maybe even a Matt Allen type if he is still available or possibly someone like Markov.

I had a chat with somebody who would know (or is more or less paid to know these things lol) and posted about Milera on the Carlton board yesterday.

If McKay and Francis are there at 8, do you think Carlton would take McKay?
