Last year they did the Crouch deal fairly early in the peace. That at least gave them something to hang their hats on.
So far all I'm seeing are acts that could only be described as intentional sabotaging of the AFC. Angas Graham FFS!
It's one thing to pick up unproven players with potential (Jenkins, Lynch, Johnston) and hope that they will improve to the point where you break even. It's another to trade for a player who is a proven failure with no scope whatsoever for improvement - even if he only cost us draft picks we weren't going to use, we still have him occupying a position on our list and taking home salary for 2 years - 2 years when we could be paying an AFL player, rather than a SANFL reserves specialist.
I'm not assuming anything about a clause. All I know is that the AFC hasn't shown any indication of talking to a 3rd club about Tippett, showing a complete lack of spine in the process.
So far this trade period has been an unmitigated disaster. We've landed Angas Graham and I'm yet to hear a single rumour of a trade which doesn't involve Adelaide bending over and hoping that our "trade partners" use lube. It's almost as if Harper & Noble know that they will be forced to resign when they set foot back in Adelaide, so they're sabotaging our list now as a form of pre-emptive revenge.
Why do we have to talk to a third club about a pick that Sydney need to give us? That is Sydney's job and there is talk that Parker for pick 11 from Carlton is happening.
You dont think the comments GWS made re Tippett and PSD were induced by some talks with our guys?
And now we see Sydney are looking for a pick to give us that is better than pick 22.
The best thing about this week is the media running with comments this Rumour Ralph guy made on Twitter as Gospel.
