drafting and trading 2012

Last year they did the Crouch deal fairly early in the peace. That at least gave them something to hang their hats on.

So far all I'm seeing are acts that could only be described as intentional sabotaging of the AFC. Angas Graham FFS!

It's one thing to pick up unproven players with potential (Jenkins, Lynch, Johnston) and hope that they will improve to the point where you break even. It's another to trade for a player who is a proven failure with no scope whatsoever for improvement - even if he only cost us draft picks we weren't going to use, we still have him occupying a position on our list and taking home salary for 2 years - 2 years when we could be paying an AFL player, rather than a SANFL reserves specialist.

I'm not assuming anything about a clause. All I know is that the AFC hasn't shown any indication of talking to a 3rd club about Tippett, showing a complete lack of spine in the process.

So far this trade period has been an unmitigated disaster. We've landed Angas Graham and I'm yet to hear a single rumour of a trade which doesn't involve Adelaide bending over and hoping that our "trade partners" use lube. It's almost as if Harper & Noble know that they will be forced to resign when they set foot back in Adelaide, so they're sabotaging our list now as a form of pre-emptive revenge.

Why do we have to talk to a third club about a pick that Sydney need to give us? That is Sydney's job and there is talk that Parker for pick 11 from Carlton is happening.

You dont think the comments GWS made re Tippett and PSD were induced by some talks with our guys?

And now we see Sydney are looking for a pick to give us that is better than pick 22.

The best thing about this week is the media running with comments this Rumour Ralph guy made on Twitter as Gospel.

I'm talking about the idea of trading him to a club other than Sydney. Adelaide = 1st club, Sydney = 2nd club, Club X = 3rd club.

Maybe.. but we've been round this merrygoround how many times in the last 2 weeks? For them to find a better pick means that Ireland is going to have to do a backflip by releasing one of the "untouchable" players.

They have said theyve spoken to third and fourth parties Vader. GWS for one (and I know GC was another). Kurt REFUSED to have anything to do with GWS and clearly burned GC.

And your last paragraph is just embarrassing dude.
How else do you explain Angas Graham on a 2-year contract? If that's not an act of willful & deliberate sabotage/vandalism, then I don't know what is.

You are being such a sook lately. I wonder whether your teenage sister has taken over your account. Its insurance, not good insurance I grant but if its at minimum wage, it can only have an upside.

Let's just say that I'm not happy with the idea of the club landing either White or Graham. I understand the need for a backup ruckman, I just think they couldn't have found two worse options if they'd tried.

Heck, I'd prefer the Norwood ruckman who played the GF last week on one leg. At least he showed heart and a burning desire to give his all for the club.

Still 2 years with an oxygen thief on our list, when we could be using that position to develop a young player with potential.

Look at it this way, Brad Symes is off our list, Graham is more usefull than him.

If Jacobs needs a week or two off Graham becomes somewhat important.

2 year @ minimum wage for an insurance policy Ruckman is no big deal.

Yeah, I agree with this.

Vader, I know I've been acting like a porkchop (including randomly shouting about Jesse White at family members), but you need to take a deep breath.

Ahh.. the thought of a list without Symes. There is at least one positive to be taken away from this post-season.:)

Sorry for rehashing old territory, but i keep getting conflicting stories.

Is Brad Crouch already on our list: Ie, we were going one short last year.
Or does he need a new spot. Ie. He comes on as Doughty for example goes off.

I wonder if the AFC will be surprised when half the members don't renew their memberships next year? This trading period has been one massive debacle from beginning to end.

Angas Graham FFS. Are we deliberately head-hunting the worst players in the AFL and trying to cram as many as possible on to our team list? Or is it just a case of us having no dead wood to delist next year, so they're buying some now, stockpiling in advance?
IF we end up getting something further from the Sydney deal then its a huge win. Graham is a better ruck prospect than White. Hold your horses Vader...dont jump the gun. I sound like Luke Skywalkers mother...
