IF we end up getting something further from the Sydney deal then its a huge win. Graham is a better ruck prospect than White. Hold your horses Vader...dont jump the gun. I sound like Luke Skywalkers mother...
Depends upon the outcome of the Tippett trade. So far there have not been any rumours which have been favourable towards Adelaide.

If Graham is all we get out of trade week, then this trading period will have been an unmitigated disaster.

If you think we're going to win out of the Tippett trade then you're dillusional. We are in the worst bargaining position of any team ever. Graham + 11 + 22 would be ok in my book. Cant see it happening though.

Who said anything about winning the Tippett trade? I said there haven't been anything "favourable" towards Adelaide. I'll settle for something vaguely reasonble - pick 11 & 23 is still unders, but it's acceptable unders. Pick 23 alone is so far short of being acceptable that Harper & Noble would need to hire bodyguards if they wish to return to Adelaide in the foreseeable future.

But Sydney could give us nothing if they wanted to...i dont think you understand how this works.

Unless Sydney work something more favourable send him to the draft. Despite what Rowie says we still get a pick for Tippett going from our list.It may be in the 40's or 50's but the chances of getting a good player are not much worse than the Sydney pick of 23.Remember Sloane (47), MacKay (48) Jobe Watson (40) Mattie Stokes (61). There are still good players to be found. I initially thought they should take 23 but I have changed my mind because of the way they have offered poor choices. If they were serious they should have hawked a player to a third club for a better (lower) pick. Make them sweat. Tell them now it's draft and give the other teams a chance to get their money in order to bid for Tippett.(GWS)

He did but the AFL just announced we get nada.

How nice of them
didn't matter as we weren't going to use it anyway ......was prepared to give to Richmond if given

So seeing as we are likely to only use one pick , or perhaps two, in the draft, I assume we will be trying to get those picks up as high as possible.

Ins: Crouch, Callinan, Graham
Outs: Knights, Doughty, Tippett, Symes
Vets: Rutten, Reilly

As David Noble has informed us, Crouch needs to be taken as a pick, so at this stage we have one live pick.

If Kurt goes for 11 and 22, we then have 3 first round picks. Awesome currency to try to upgrade some picks. Problem though is finding someone who is interested in getting two low first rd picks for a high first round pick.

Noble also said we are pretty unlikely to trade any other players, but do we think a player may be spat out to upgrade a pick? Dunno, maybe.

Here's my thoughts:

1. We trade all three first rounders to GWS for pick 3. Any chance? I don't know. SOS specifically said he wants players.

2. All three to Melbourne for pick 4. Possible, depends whether they want Wines or not.

Both these options leaves us with a high pick, brim the only live pick we use.

3. We trade 2 of 11, 20 or 23 to GWS with a player (won't be McKernan) for pick 3. Would need to be a quality player though that GWS has interest in. Thoughts on who it might be? I can't think of a particular position they are lacking in talent.

Thoughts?

Out: Doughty, Knights, Tippett, Symes Vet List:Rutten & Reilly
In: Crouch & Callinan

2 live picks??

Problem is ....if Tippett deal goes through to next Friday, will we have the opportunity to use any of the options at the last minute

Don't think we can get picks 2 -4 ......that said would:

St Kilda (who are rebuilding) ...trade picks 19 & 22 for Goddard pick #13?

Would we then be happy going to ND with picks 11 & 13 :thumbsu:

Three according to Noble on AA Perhaps there is no maths in a MBA

I thought that regarding saints :thumbsu:

Def one live pick. Dogga already on vet list so doesn't affect list size.

I not saying iam any good & maybe i missed something ....but you would like to have 3 sub pick 40 picks

#11, #20, # 23 is not a bad selection to go into the draft with

#11 & #13 is better if we can consolidate #20 & #23 & other picks to a St Kilda ?? ;)

If we start at 40 at year end, incl Dogga and Callinan as an upgraded rookie = 38 senior list

Less Dogga and Callinan still at 38
Less tip Symes and knights makes 35
Rutten and Reilly to Vet list makes 33
Add Callinan crouch and graham makes 36

Bugger your right. Still need 2 live picks. Don't know what planet I'm living on.

We're still looking at 2 live picks. We go from a list size of 39, back up to 40 (1 extra player over last year)..
IN: Crouch, Callinan, Graham, 2 draft picks
OUT: Tippett, Knights, Symes, Doughty

Noble is probably right about Crouch needing a pick. Your interpretation that this leaves us with only one live pick is in error.

No.. but replacing one veteran (Doughty) with two veterans (Rutten & Reilly) frees up one position on the senior list - a position we can fill via the draft.

Definitely looking at 2 live picks at this point in time.
