VFL Final VFL Round 21 v Brisbane. Saturday August 17th - 12:05pm @ AIA Centre

When people say... "we lost 12 in a row" or "toward bottom of the ladder" etc it can be excused when you think of all the instability we have had this year.
We have 26 players on our vfl list. Not only have we played them all, but we also have played coates leagues kids and some kids that have been training with us this year.

The side hasn't had any consistency. Players coming and going. Add that to this being a young and inexperienced group too who havent had much experience playing together.

I think our results can be understood and I wouldn't be thinking much about it.

Just me? But looking at this lions team, I barely recognise half of them. I reckon we can win

Perfect opportunity to have a Smit, McInnes, Allan and Macrae starting 4 in the centre square tomorrow.
But no, we want to reinvent McInnes into a backman when we are screaming out for a big bodied mid with pace. We could potentially have 2 in he and Allan, but for whatever reason, prefer Sullivan over him in there
Bloody annoys me

Can still happen.

They tend to put him in the middle in the 2nd half. Which is weird. Pick a position and stick to it.

Sure we could win. But that is still a handy team. With some strong VFL listed talent. And experienced afl players like McKenna Foort Robertson Lyons etc
We would need to improve a fair bit on recent showings to beat them

Maybe Reef doesn’t have the tank?

Weak line up… but the future is there

several young names in it like Allan, McInness, Smit, HDM, TJ and older one in Richards.. and Harrison 😞

All of whom I think can be decent senior players so long as the club manages their development and opportunities properly

Others like Krueger, Dean, Sullivan are more gate keepers but perhaps 1 or 2 out of Macrae, Eyre and Ryan make it

So a loss today is academic… just another important day at school for the up and comers

Maybe Reef doesn’t have the tank?

But they continue to move him in there in the second half when we need a lift?

here’s a thought, how about starting him there and see how he goes.
He is one of the few dynamic young players we have, size and speed, now we want him to play him as a shut down backman? Crazy stuff

Would be good to read some positive play.
You’re free to come and watch and post whatever you like, jmac

Gee our transition is soft at times - on the break or from kick-out situations
They got 3 goals then from lack of pressure - end-to-end stuff and we knew where they were going

Ed is doing quite well
Macrae a few touches
Eyre should have used TJ but didn’t bc he wanted to kick long (TJ was pretty frustrated about it). He also needs another 5 to 10 kg
Smit strong in the ruck - thought he was penalised in the contest straight after his opponent did exactly the same thing to him
Reef in D50
Ryan often caught bw wing and HBF - PLEASE PLAY HIM UP THE F$&@ING GROUND OR IN THE MIDDLE
Kreug is a presence when he near it but he needs to more often

Wheels have fallen off in last ~20 mins
