He’s right, I think we all assumed those guys would be in line for those open spots. So either they are busts or the coach doesn’t have the backbone to give them a chance.

What media platform does Mundy have btw, I’ve been avoiding afl media this year
Don’t judge me but I listened to talkback after the game to hear the melts…regretted it immediately. Felt sorry for Dave having to listen to all the Eagle knobs calling up.

Anyone have the pleasure of catching that smug wankstain, Schnozil Schnozpilas on 7 News last night. ****en hell you could not wipe the slimy smirk off his face reporting on how we got pumped by the Crows. Detailed every inch of our failure in slow motion where possible and really played up the fact that our season is pretty much done four games in. Absolute piece of shit.

Something I noticed yesterday is Schultz seemed to end up delivering kicks i50 a lot - he’s not that good at it. His field kicking is pretty average and he’s not that good at it. He’s a decent goal kicker but having him 80-90 m out from goal on the ball is not ideal.

Positives ;
I got home 45 mins late so could fast forward through the crap parts of the game on Kayo

Negatives;
45 mins was nowhere near long enough

My take was that the minute we tried a hint of fast ball movement we continuously fumbled the ball - it’s like we had never practiced that aspect of football

That and our mid-forward connection was horrendous, or our forwards were just shyte- (or both) hard to tell on tv.

Was very jealous watching the Crows forward line functioning like an actual footy team.

Most shops return faulty goods, do we get membership refunds?

Some moron on Reddit is trying to claim that Luke Ryan was BOG because of his stat line. I seriously wonder if our supporter base can get any stupider sometimes.

Zero score involvements is the stat I see as most important.

To put that in perspective everyone else in the team had a score involvement except Alex Pearce. Most weeks the whole team has a score involvement.

The guy touched the ball 22 times and is supposed to be turning defence into attack. He doesn’t do anything except slow our ball movement and make impossible for us to score.

His number of disposals and intercept marks will keep him in the team but match committee should think seriously about dropping him. It’s not just about dropping sh** players - it’s about which players would benefit from being dropped. Perhaps a month at Peel where he can try more risky kicks without as much consequence would benefit him greatly.

I don't watch free to air TV

Snoz is unbearable

I am not buying this "Mid-forward connection" malarkey. Our mid-forward connection is rubbish because our forwards are rubbish, and our mids refuse to move the ball forward. We insist on handballing backwards until we turn it over.

I want Dale Alcock gone. The buck stops with him and his shitty houses that he slaps together. We need a real leader like Obama.

600m gained. 0 score involvements. Is there a stat out there that measures metres gained the following posession? Because for every 50m Ryan gains it goes 100m back the other way.

One of the things about Schultz is that he does a lot of hard two way running and so ends up in positions that others don't have the work ethic to get into.

He'll play high and get the ball in transition. Nek minnut he's leading up for the ball from the position of a deep forward.

Meanwhile more highly skilled team mates seem to be running on the spot clogging up space and getting in each other's way

What about Bill Clinton? He'd be fun

Acres was the dumbest decision of the lot. We offered him peanuts and he just wanted an extra peanut or 2. He wanted to stay at Freo. He was clearly a much improved player. To have the arrogance that “oh we have loads of wing options anyway” and to categorically prove within 4 weeks that we absolutely do not, and we could have had a very good wingman with just some very basic, competent list management.

It’s quite amazing how smug everybody got after a 6th placed finish. A club like Geelong would’ve considered last season a failure. They changed their slow-slow gameplan that bought them multiple top 4 finishes because it wasn’t good enough to win it all. But everyone at Freo puffs out their chest when we make a SF (and lose it in exactly the same fashion we’ve been losing all our games this year, but they were too busy patting each other on the back to worry about that at the time).
Lol the amount of flak I got for defending Acres and saying we screwed up getting rid of him and now everyone's tune has changed.

Ergh …. I’m just about Freo’d out at this point

Might make myself an alias and float around the main board injecting myself into VIC team shitfights as LygonLegend 86 or Hamo from the hanger

See you victims for next weeks humiliation
Nah not me. Bring on GC. Bring on a new gameplan and hopefully new personnel changes.

Mid forward connection puts the emphasis on players when in reality blind Freddy can see that we have problems structurally ahead of the ball. But of course saying we have major problems structurally places emphasis on coaches.

Henry - Wow have I seen enough of this bloke pulling on a Freo guernsey - he NEEDS to be dropped and unless he’s dominated every Peel game over the course of a month he can stay far away from AFL level. A 3 week overdue omission. No more freebies.

Unfortunately I think we’ve been a bit seduced by talent. We’ve let go of role players who we didn’t value as highly as we should have in Acres, Logue, even Tucker, and traded in JOM who we assumed could just replace what Mundy brought to the team. You see St Kilda who’ve been cruelled by injuries and don’t have the talent that half the teams in the comp have - but their being drilled in classic RTB style: play your role and work your ass off. And it’s working.

We’re also seeing our usually reliable guns in Brayshaw, Pearce, Ryan, Young really struggling for form - we’re not going to be winning many games if all these guys aren’t playing up to their standards.

And If Brodie and JOM can’t coexist in the same team then we’ve made a huge mistake trading him in. Brodie was on fire last year and needs to regain that form, if that’s at the expense of JOM then so be it.
Unfortunately some of the players like Henry, etc are continually picked for potential or supposed skill yet they lack in the basic effort, complete contrast to how St Kilda are travelling currently where they reward all out effort and are not so worried about the skill level.
