GAGF you. You don’t even know me.He's on the Absinthe.
I think Richmond also play Dogs. Either result is potentially helpful. There are a couple such match ups.Reckon we'll have to displace two of the teams above as Geelong, Richmond and Sydney challenge us.
Boy didn't it suck to lose this one, same with 80% of our past losses to the Pies and it is part of a standard script it seems. Had a 2 goal lead after 3 quarters and should have finished it off because you are NEVER going to get the calls in an away game. Yep Rankine was just over the line I think, that was the worst decision of the game and even then I knew it was the difference of the game.
One thing I must say is that Jordan Dawson is perhaps one of the best players we have ever recruited (as of now, cannot guarantee the future, injuries, etc). He was amazing today, he did not get the call in the end because of that away disadvantage. I remember that Port fans where fuming they didn't get him but now they have Jason Horne-Francis so it is all fair now.
I want Adelaide to bounce back next week with anger, don't let this terrible loss distract them. Forget about it and move on to the next game. North are not great but they are much better than West Coast.
Fairly robust limb you walked out on.I'll go out on a limb and say Collingwood are overrated. Yes they are a very good team and more likely to win the premiership than any other, but I think they are flattered by:
1. Not travelling very often away from their precious MCG, never get sent to s**t hole grounds; and have the psychological advantage of knowing finals and the grand final are locked into their home ground
2. The media circle-jerk
3. Their last-quarter comebacks. Yes their comebacks are largely due to merit rather than luck. But some luck is involved, and why the * does this supposedly fantastic side keep ending up behind in the fourth quarter? Why wait until then? One day the comeback won't come off - it's a matter of when.
He will probably get 3 games for unnecessary contact to the face. Elliott meanwhile will get off scott free from every official angle after smashing Dawson in the face with a swinging forearm, in front of goal, 10 seconds left.Keays ripping off Cox's glasses; thought it was uncalled for
I laughed because I thought you were joking then I laughed again when I realized you were serious.

Winnable
We need to beat North at home.
Essendon away is a must win.
Giants at home
Suns at home.
Swans at home
Rnd 24 vs West Coast.
Brisbane and Melbourne are serious tests.
Can't even think about Showdown yet.
We definitely need to build into the back end of the season.it
We are still a year ahead of where I thought our development trajectory was taking us. In 2020 we were in full rebuild, with a 1st time coach and AFL sanctions preseason. Then we had camp drama brought every week or two with media smashing us. Not exactly ideal development environment.
But now we have an opportunity to take our chances, roll the dice and play our cards right, take it one week at a time and hopefully play finals with this young group.

Last paragraph is why you can’t call it with 100% certainty. I reckon they might pay one like that 2-3 times out of 10.
Like most of the team he fumbled like a mofo in the first half. Gave us some real drive in Q3Milera woeful? Thought he won some absolutely critical contests under pressure and gave us good drive off half back
100% - not sure why Dawson didn’t exaggerate the head movement after. Everyone else does! That Dawson free will never get paid, could barely see it live, just one of those unlucky ones. Dawson should have slung his head back after contact.
2.5 to 5.2, but yes to your point.we had more scoring shots and played a great game we just needed more composure in front of the sticks. 1.5 to 5.1 in that final quarter. That's the game there regardless of any umpiring decision.
I’m with you I think. Head band no issue, medical thing no go.I'm happy to cop negative feedback for it but I reckon it's a low act to go after medical equipment so deliberately. I was a big fan of the pride Mason showed when speaking about having to wear them, i know a few young fellas who stopped playing because of the embarrassment of it. It was good to see it normalised. Funny how we are not ok with having a dig at someone's injury or pulling hair but ripping a medical aid off someone's head is ok? I get there is little risk of pain but I just think it's a bad look but maybe it's because I've experienced the pain of those young fellas and I'm a bit sensitive. As I said, I'll wear the disagreement.
The Victorian/non-Victorian discount/penalty will be in full force. He will probably get 3 games for unnecessary contact to the face. Elliott meanwhile will get off scott free from every official angle after smashing Dawson in the face with a swinging forearm, in front of goal, 10 seconds left.
I sat with a Collingwood mate.
He started laughing when I told him we hadn't played in Melbourne until Round 15 as he thought I was joking.
2024 demands
Play in Melbourne in the first 5 rounds
Play minimum 3 games at MCG
No Geelong
No Ballarat
Max 1 of Darwin or Launceston
No Perth in Round 24 (despite WC being rubbish)
Clearly the hand touches it FIRST, then the boot kicks it out of the hand, so nothing to debate: the boot is the last to CONTACT the ball. Goal.See I reckon you can work that through properly and arrive at a goal. I don't see how it was inconclusive. A flow that looks like this maybe:
Does the ball hit Rankines limb below the knee? Yes
Does the ball touch Rankines limb last? Close call, ask clarifying question/s.
At the precise point of release from Rankine's limb is the Collingwood player touching the ball? No
Is there a subsequent touch from any other player? No.
At the established point of release has the ball crossed the line? No.
Decision: Goal.
I just don't think you can mount a case that Noble is touching the ball at the point of release.
There can be a simultaneous touch between hand and foot but that doesn't mean it is touched. If the foot touches it last then that is the play.
Agreed.I cannot for the life of me understand how it is inconclusive.
But if this was the opposite we would have upgraded camera systems in place next week.
I was going to post about the same thing. The hit on Dawson with 30-odd seconds to go in the last was a killer, too.As an example of the atrocious umpiring bias, I recall an incident in the second or third quarter when a Crows player tackled a Collingwood player and it was a ball-up, and mere seconds later a Collingwood player tackled one of ours in identical circumstances and it was paid holding the ball.
Yep. Rachele missed a couple very gettable goals too. Rankine in the first, also.Pedlars miss in the first 1/4
Mitch Hinge is absolutely crucial in our ball movement.
Yes, it is depressing, but your cynicism wasn't "blind".It's depressing that my blind cynicism was validated.
