I knew it was going to be bad news when I saw Laird line up along side crouch at the first centre bounce.

We needed Rankine in the midfield in that game.

His first touch and quick smart disposal was exactly what we needed more of.

Nick's is an average coach.
Strange when Rankine started last week against GCS and was good.

Laird was average tonight, so was Dawson, the captain title isn't doing him any favours.

Smith was diabolical, Nankervis much better option.

Forward line entries were horrendous

BUT overall we are timid, no roll up the sleeve, see ball and get ball attitude outside of Crouch and Soligo.

Bring on SAnFL
Made AA as our captain that’s just silly talk

We literally would have been better off kicking it along the ground inside forward 50. Rachelle, Rankine, Keyes and Pedlar would give a lot more than 3 tall forwards who can't cover 50 metres between them to chop out Stewart.

2 more plays (among many) that show the Crows up to be without composure, if not inept:
--- under NO pressure except clueless about where to kick the ball, Smith shank-kicks ootf off his right toe. He was putrid all night.
--- Fog, running into an open goal, kicks into the post under no tackle pressure from top-left of the goalsquare.

It's like we tried Pedlar on him for 5 minutes, that didn't work so just abandoned the idea completely. Wasn't a hard move to stick Burgess on him or even Keays.
Honestly this. It's crazy to think that the way to combat Geelong's obviously most important player was to stick Pedlar on him, or just let him be go free. Along with the game plan of....kick it long and high?
I would have accepted almost anything other than those two options. Hell, stick Dawson there as a taller contested marker who can run off and punish with kicks to make Stewart accountable. Anything besides the total and utter disrespect shown to one of the leagues well known best intercept and rebounding defenders on a milestone game.

Good:
Above Average: Crouch, O'Brien, Burgess, Rachele, Michalaney, Dawson, Walker, Rankine, McHenrey
Average: Keane, Laird, Soligo
Below Average: Fogarty, Pedlar, Worrell, Milera, Hinge, Jones, Butts
Bad: Smith, Murphy, Berry, Keays

That miss by fog was harder to miss it than kick it. Embarassing.

Pedlar was "assigned" that task instead of Keays who has done it very well previously on other important defenders.........
When the opposition have a gun rebound defender we need to get smart about assigning someone who can quell them.

Could have used someone like Hinge.

Did Nicks miss how Sydney used Robbie Fox in round 1?

It's fine to have your own game plan, but also need to put time into the opposition's key players.

Ugly: We’ve got six more prime time fixtures to be nationally embarrassed in.
I kind of like getting it out of the way early. Have a sleep and then enjoy the full weekend knowing the Crows have already let you down.

Geelong remind me of a traditional Hinkley team/ Average team who are well coached. Will beat the trash and lose to the good. Will finish 5-8 and wont get past the semi finals.

Adelaide MIGHT flulke finals. But anything above 8th place is dreaming.

8-14 is the range and should lead to a Nicks sacking. Alas. We jumped the gun stupidly (But we did with Sando didn't we??????? Maybe we can buy our way out of our stupidity?)

Both Dawson & Laird have had 2 really poor games... yet we refuse to give other players more inside minutes when they are down on form.

That is on the coaches...

Far out. Some generous ratings here.

Dawson was putrid, Rachele average at best, Tex average at best, rankine average at best. Soligo better than all of them but still average.

You are so right, There are too many non entities in our team. Players that do f@@k all and have no positive influence.
Time to weed out these s**t players because they had enough chances and are still poor.

By the way did Pedler have one of the worst games ever??? He made mistake after mistake and was a complete liability.

Murphy is garbage with no talent.
Jones will never become anything more than an 18 possession player with no influence.

Smith has been poor for almost 2 years
Fog is not showing enough at all.
🤬 did they sign Nicks up when no other club wanted him, why not wait until mid year for any decision. The whole coaching group need to be shot, they didn’t try anything different the whole game, it was like watching a rerun for 3 hours

The problem when you throw development out the window is you finish higher up the ladder but its a false economy. What Nicks did last year was inexcusable in my book. Yeah its a temporary feel good story, pushing for finals but its short term. We still have a Tex obsessed forward line. Our midfield of Crouch, O'Brien and Laird is stale. We have no Ruck solutions, we have a short backline. Our forward line is short as well.

Fun facts with Cousin Eddie
15 players on our list have played less than 20 games. Just 2 of these players played tonight
26 players have over played under 50 games. Just 9 of these players played tonight.
3 of the 4 players over 30 on our list keep being selected. Sloane would be if he was fit.
14 players over 25 on the list. All of them played except for Sloane, Himmelberg and Strachan.

These are the type of stats the media should be smashing the club over?

One big question is what hell is Burgess doing in our side? This question is purely based on the fact he is literally the very definition of a fly by night style 2 year player at best. 28yo useless for us long term.

It sucks no one got to enjoy this

Live - Amazing goal

On the replay - Because the game was over, the commentator made it sound dull.

Couldnt build the excitment.

Sometimes i wis Goals of the week/year were done without commentary. Because that was probably worthy of goal of the week. But as the game was dead, commentary was shit. Would be lucky to even be in the goll

I'm really concerned about Burns as our forward coach.
It's an incredible move. As dumb as Ben Hart (CHAMPION defender) as forwards Coach.
Huge mistake, obvious after only 2 rounds. Dumb, unjustifiable, just plain fknNuts.
He [took] over the most efficient highest scoring forward line...
... and turned it into the garbage we saw tonight and last week.

If the Club had any courage, any vision, they'd deal with that mistake asap and sack Burns.

Besides a 5 minute purple patch in the 1st, what did soligo do all game?
