Watching the Footy Show they’re going on about the deliberate - comparing it to others paid, not one mention of the other angle though.

The AFL have come out in the past and stated if an umpire was right or wrong with these kinds of decisions that shape the result.

I have no doubt that if it was wrong they will state that. Should be interesting the next 24 hours.

I think that would be the longest kick he's done all season.

We just never win games like that. Close all night, other team kicks a couple of quick ones with less than 10 minutes left, normally that’s game over. I can’t remember another time where we have come back from that position to actually win a game. The Collingwood 2017 is the only one I can think of, and that was a draw. This is a huge win for the rebuild, especially after losing the Hawks game.

This is the second time this year we have won after being behind at three quarter time (less than a kick but we previously would lose these type of matches). Can’t remember the last time we had done that twice in season.

Seriously I was so drunk with excitement, that I didnt hear the siren nor see how much exact time was left.

I thought it was free kick from the boundary line and wondered which potato from the Crows kicked it out of bounds.

Also, kudos to James Rowe on using his few opportunities to perfection.
Lovely shark and snap for goal at the stoppage,
Perfect snap from the boundary after the deliberate
And complete poise and skill to execute the left foot pass to Fogarty in the last few mins coming out of centre.

I've been a critic and he still does things that annoy the hell out of me, just like his Father before him, but I love the kids composure, he looks thinner than a month ago, he has some of the best skills in the side and if he keeps trajectory from the the past two weeks I admit now that he's going to be a player.

Also, he's without a doubt a "character", and I believe that premiership teams need those types.

I’ve just watched the Crows-Demons mini on Fox and noted that Spargo (who was the Melbourne player) jogged back into position straight away ready for the thrown in. If you hadn’t touched it, you would have been with the others appealing. He knew he touched it.

I think the issue for the footy commentators is we destroyed the fairy tale.
If you look for Spargo pulling his hand away as the ball flicks it, it makes it easy to spot the instant it was touched. And the ball changes its trajectory from 3 frames before that.

Yep agree with all that.

Also, we bang on about the kids not getting a run of games to prove themselves....then most have been calling for Rowe to be dropped.

Should this really be any different with Rowe? He'll have his ups and downs, but he's shown that when he's needed to step up, he is composed enough to execute and make it count. That's something we've lacked for a long time!

I'm starting to think that the single KPD decision may be a deliberate ploy. I mean if you look at it like results don't matter, I think making Dude and the other mid sized defenders practice accountable 1 on 1 footy vs mismatch KPF is only going to benefit their game so long as this isn't going to be a long term game plan and the pressure valve is periodically released, as we have done twice this season.

Same with the fwd structure. Yesterdays set-up was what, the fourth different structure we have used already this year?

I realise I'm playing Devils advocate a bit here, but if we disregard results on the scoreboard, as any rebuilding Coach of a young bottom side should be, it isn't hard to imagine a well thought out strategy being implemented and executed this season.
First and foremost, effort and ownership has been there across most quarters. Once you add in the structure/game plan conducive to winning you get what we saw yesterday. A sprinkle more talent and we are right up there.

I now don't think simply throwing all our young talent onto the park at once and expecting, or rather teaching them the ropes all at once is practical or logistically possible,so there might be something to this drip-feed approach and why some selections perplex still.
I predict we see more youngster slowly infused over the second half of the season.

Anyway that's my story for this week at least.

He was rubbish for a few weeks there and definitely deserved the calls to go back and find form in the sanfl..

But i think murph going down saved his arse.

His last two weeks hes been enormous. In absolutely everything.

its almost as if murph going down triggered something in him..

maybe that and him seeing Mcadam dropped and thinking he’s next if he doesnt pull his finger out..

probably a mix of both.

He definitely looks to be running out games better than the start of the year.

Can you imagine Nicks this week preparing a special DVD to hose down that aggression and show everyone what hard football really means?

Talk about a party pooper

My question on the Murray non call.

Genuinely, what's he meant to do?
He's being tackled towards the goals.

He can't concede a behind.

Can't take possession, probably get done holding the ball.

He can handball left across the face of goal. Shit defense.

He's tried to handball it away from him to his right.

What other options did he have?
Handball it over his head?

Keays really took a step forward with his composure around goal. It's been his biggest weakness but those two goals were first class. Not to mention the rest of his game.
Brilliant finishes. The cherry on top and elevated his game.

Did he hurt his wrist late in the game? Was in some pain but played on with it

Flew into Adelaide last night. Game was beyond epic. Whole team effort. Can’t believe MacKay was good. Crowd went mental up here in the nose bleeds. Tex, Filthy n Fog up forward, please leave. Mids outclassed but not out worked. OMG Oliver nearly did us alone. We wanted this more View attachment 1134727and it was gooooooood.
Just on the crowd, is Adelaide Oval now allowed 100% patronage ? ......appeared on TV to be a lot of empty seats & just wondering why

The last Port game had a much bigger crowd

He was lucky it wasn't paid

It's tough but he needs to handball it near the line so that it stops just short. Not easy to do of course and who knows what impact the Spargo deflection had, maybe that is what he tried to do

Picture how hard this kid is going to be in a couple of years. He's already right up there.
He's not only hard as fuch, but by the looks, hes one of those freaks with mega bone density and natural centre of balance that just don't get knocked off the ball and can keep their feet when running through brick walls. Once his Brain gets on top of the pace of AFL footy, I think he will be unstoppable.

Needs to tidy up his kicking to have a shot at becoming elite- but looks to be a seriously handy player.
