Amazing result and massive improvements by both teams and enjoy watching every minute. That said to suggest we are close to North is way off. Let’s not get carried away we win 10 games where 8 of them are non finalists sides 9-11 and 13-18 (excluding 15th swans) on the ladder. Arguably our second best game was the crows loss (freo gutsy win stands out).
Winning any final would be fantastic and a huge accomplishment and it’s a massive platform for 2025 like the men.
Making a PF would be awesome.

Our draw has enabled us to finish second and get a double chance, but you can only play the teams you’re drawn to play.

Fact is we have beaten Richmond and Fremantle, who both made finals.

The Adelaide loss was back in Rd 3, and as a group we have improved significantly since then.

I feel we are deservedly getting a double chance as our form and output is similar to Adelaide and Brisbane.

We may not be favoured to beat either of those teams in the heat of finals, but I wouldn’t count us out.

The Adelaide loss was the equivalent to the Port loss for the men. The team took a lot out of that loss and how they needed to improve.

I’m not saying we don’t deserve to finish top 4. I was very specific responding to the claim we aren’t far behind north. We have every chance to beat Brisbane they aren’t that good. We would be a good chance against the crows we only got blown away in 1 quarter the other 3 we were even. We aren’t at norths level but as a club in their 3rd year who finished low down who would have imagined we would even have this conversation.

Seeing the salt from all the oppo camps about this is simply....

Top work girls! Go on with it!

Can't fathom why Brisbane and its fans are getting in a tizz. Had my team just won is first flag in 20 years in such a dominant performance I dont think anything would give me the hump.

I think there is a stack of extra prize money for winning the McClelland Trophy and it is a form of Silverware so I guess there's that

Just been reading the main board on this and there are some salty Lions supporters. Can only think it has to do with the $$$ going to the women that has them up in arms.

Our men did well but the women kicked it out of the park and really deserve the extra $$$'s. It'll mean more for them.

Uh, if Brisbane had won the money then it would have gone to women as well, right? I’m all for irrational bigotry toward opposition teams. It is the stuff that footy is made of, after all. But, just like with good science fiction, I still demand logical consistency.

What an enjoyable year. To have both teams perform the way they have has been like a dream scenario. Just go back a year (or even a few rounds into the men's season) and I wasn't daring to even imagine something like this. Kudos to all involved.
