Yeah, the last time we travelled was to WA when we beat your mob by a hundred and something points, Dusty was best on and Townsend kicked 6. Enjoyed that game.

Bet you weren't as ecstatic as we were when the siren went for the corresponding fixture at the G! MUNDY - you bewdy.

Not all together though - seriously precious response to a fair point. Players in less successful sides playing with a complete list of All Australians.

All players playing with a list of All Australians would be privy to that, not just those in crap sides as he originally put it. It's a little patronising that someone about to reach 300 games is going to be more in awe than anybody else. Isn't that a fair point?

His point was simple - players in successful sides typically play with 5 or 6 AA's around them. Players in less successful sides typically don't. The IRS gives them a new experience. Why get tribal over that?

Self evidently all IRS players this year have rubbed shoulders with multiple AA's given this year's selection policy.

Nah. But my response was to a supporter incorrectly stating we can't play away from the MCG. Anyway, I'll take our last win at the G. It was something pretty special.

The Mundy goal after the siren must have been pretty good for you guys too by the sounds of it.

It's not a tribal thing. I just find it flawed. There isn't a lot of difference between being an AA and just missing out. Usually it is just panel opinions.

Simpson did play with Fevola, Judd, Betts, Gibbs and Murphy at the same time. All of those and Simpson himself have been AA or AA squad.

The point is that Simpson is a poor example and it is not a tribal thing to say so.

Simpson has never played dominating footy with a bunch of players playing at their AA best. He's a relatively good example.

You are being too arbitrary with playing with a heap of AA players simultaneously. Playing with AA quality players simultaneously is just as good. Do you think of Judd didn't make it one year but Jobe Watson did, that playing alongside Watson would be the more rewarding experience.

Simpson is no lesserlight in that IR team and his form showed it, as it did last time he played.

I suspect this is the real motivation behind your comments. Absolutely no-one was having a go at Simpson's quality or selection over that point. it could just have easily been Fyfe used as the example. Or Boak. or Zorko. Or many others. So, yes - imo that is unnecessarily tribal and precious.

The ball and having to have a goalkeeper-a position no AFL player has ever played and one of the most important in the game really hurts us.

A goalkeeper is just a fullback.

Wrong. The point was that nobody in that team has played alongside that many AAs at once. It has nothing to do with the quality of their club side. Simpson hasn't always played in crap sides.

You keep coming back to argue someone else's point. Does that make you a little precious?

I thought the game was very competitive, which is what the organizers want. So the rule adjustments must be doing their job pretty well. Aus need to adjust to the round ball, the Irish to some of the more oz rule tactics. Whilst meaningless, its highly watchable in my opinion.
