Sounds like its essentially pick 5 with some junk picks swapped around.
So its pretty much just pick 5.
We were always giving up pick 5 for him.. those who thought we wouldnt are delusional.
Like the fact we got 46 this year.. need it for MM matching.
Now I’m hoping we get Keeler for 23 and then a bid for MM comes in at around the 30-35 mark..
All we need now is to offload crouch… and get the frampton deal sorted..
Payout seed and retire him.
Payout mcpherson and get rid of him.. his body isnt up to it.
Delist davis and use his rookie spot on a rookie draft “hamish special”..
Pick 5 for Rankine doesn't seem unrealistic to me, but the frustrating part is this is yet another year where our low finish didn't help us. If we had pick 10 instead of pick 5 they would have probably accepted that.

I like it. When Keays is running out of a centre clearance and tries to hit Rachele on the lead in the left forward pocket, it’s likely to hit Rankine lace out in the right forward pocket.

I’d be surprised if we have anything else going other than the Frampton trade unless there’s interest in Crouch we’ve not heard about…
Was hoping we could have used next years first, but happy to get the deal done and make it official.
We just need to get as many elite players into our side as we can for this rebuild to be successful, and Rankine has the potential to be one of the most exciting players in the comp if he develops as we are hoping. I can see him and Rachelle causing a lot of trouble of opposition teams over the years, rotating them both through the midfield and forward line.
Really looking forward to seeing Izak light it up in front of a packed Adelaide oval for years to come

Ok. So we get a F3 for Frampton means we still have a full suite of 2023 picks. Leaves some flex for the next few days if something comes up.

At least it is done. Would be happier if we play the split first round pick game but whatever the case, we need to transition him through to the midfield, keeping him in a fwd pocket is a waste of that kids talent

Listening to trade radio and they were just talking about the Jackson deal being finalised, but no mention of the Rankine deal. Also no mention about it on the AFL website... Where is everyone getting there info from that it is done?

It's about the best case for us had GC decided to be party poopers and we had to use pick 5 on him in the draft (wouldn't have been RD as that would have been riskier).

It would now be just tidying up loose ends as you say - Frampton, hopefully finding a new home for M Crouch and maybe 1 or 2 others
So we gain a little this year by adding an extra 3rd for MM… at the cost of a future 3rd.
Do the opposite with a 4th.
So basically pick 6.
More than I thought we should pay, less than the price GC wanted … probably about where these things fall if all done fairly.
I think our commitment to Rankine warranted us leaning towards a small loss in the trade.

I agree on the pick 5, It's frustrating that if we finished a few spots up the ladder it would of been the same deal but overall it's a good outcome.
We either really rate next year's draft or think we might need out picks for another trade given how hard they apparently pushed out a future second.
Be good to get that future third back either via Frampton or another way.
