Like Geelong putting in a 'huge bid' for Tambling?
Like "Adelaide getting a 2nd rounder for Griff"?
Yeah yeah yeah, I concede.Like 'Kurt Tippett is an absolute monty to go to the Gold Coast'? (c.2009 about 2 weeks before he signed with us)

Haven't heard that at all, what was his source?

Just saw it myself. Ah well, not unexpected. Looking more likely to stay at Carlton now.http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/103833/default.aspx
He just posted the above link after I asked the same thing.
Jacobs wants to join Adelaide, though Harper described Carlton's demand for a first-round draft pick as "unreasonable".
"Sam won't be re-signing with Carlton," Harper said.
"We've put something to Carlton and we're still talking to them about that. We'll see what happens … we're hoping that common sense prevails in the end."
It'll force you to get what he's worth instead of trying to rape us, it'll make the process go a hell of a lot fasterI wonder how the Tambling trade affects the Jacobs trade?
it affects it in a big way, because Crows only wanted 1 of them. if we pushed for Walker instead of Tambling, we would be losing massively in getting Jacobs/Walker in a complex package deal, which would've taken all week to sort out, and we'd risk the deal not getting completed. plus, Tambling would've landed at a different club by then.I wonder how the Tambling trade affects the Jacobs trade?
So do I. Atleast there is one positive if we don't get him, he won't be at Carlton.
Will anyone other than us be able to afford the price he will put on his head going into the PSD His contract with us will almost certainly be frontloaded as well if that makes any difference
Richmond have offered the same deal to Grigg.Richmond you would think.
Gee, if he's 100% not re-signing with the Blues, perhaps its worth taking the risk of letting him go in the PSD and promising we'll take him. If he nominates SA as his preferred destination and his contract his front-loaded, surely most clubs would back away? And Port can't steal him either since we're before them.
Could we have paid overs for Tambling on the understanding if Jacobs slipped to the PSD they wouldnt pick him up? I reckon they would be the biggest chance to take him in the PSD.
Maybe a "nudge nudge wink wink let's screw Carlton over" deal that involves paying slightly overs for Tambling on the understanding that they take Grigg in PSD (effectively only giving up a 3rd rounder for him) leaving Jacobs for us in PSD. Maybe Richmond are also dealing with the same crap from the Carlton recruiters and there is a collective agreement to leave them with nothing if they continue to try to play hardball.
Hmmm.. very good point actually.Could we have paid overs for Tambling on the understanding if Jacobs slipped to the PSD they wouldnt pick him up? I reckon they would be the biggest chance to take him in the PSD.
