Seriously, the presser from 6:10 descends into chaos.

Years and years of failing to ask the tough questions of Hinkley and for some stupid reason they want to target us for choosing a theme of which the result (of Oppenheimer being a bomb) was negative.

FFS.

Fair play to Hinkley for shutting it down well, but geez that was horrendous journalism.

The third highest grossing movie of 2023. Lot of people apparently have to feel ashamed.

Thank goodness it wasn't Schindler's List.

Bit of a difference between just watching a movie and being inspired by it, isn't there? Otherwise I sure hope you haven't watched any Nazi documentaries lately.

Not seeing this doing much for our community proudery metric. Also shoutout to Kai Pudney, RIP to his family.

I live on SBSS ;)

But as Ollie and Ken have explained, you can be inspired by the message of the long term development of a complex project without being inspired by the ultimate use that object was put to. Watch The Fog of War and you know what the Americans did with the atomic bomb was a war crime. But that is different to discussing the complex science behind how the bomb was developed.

They watched a movie, they took a message out of it that suited a purpose they had. And people are outraged by that? I mean seriously I know public outrage is an industry on social media these days, but this is a nothing event.

You can watch the Barbie movie and take the message there that feminism means girls can cheat on their boyfriends equally as much as boys cheat on their girlfriends and that's ok. Is that something to celebrate? I'm not so sure, being aware of the damage domestic violence does to society.

It's bizarre isn't it. Here we have an ex-player of our club, a fan favourite, our last 'dead-eye-dick in front of goals, a noted expert in goal kicking, working as a specialist kicking coach, offering his skills for the betterment of the club, and yet...

What is it that the club has against getting in outside advisors with specialist skillsets?

What are they afraid of?

He probably needs to learn more about the club.

They're afraid to lose their player based excuses.

It seems more than that. Like it's a control thing.

From memory I don’t think it’s the first time Schulz has suggested he’d be happy to lend his services.

Pretty sure Tredders offered the same a few years back - and was also knocked back

It's a cult, a commune. We can't let outsiders in. We can't let the insiders out. Only a select few leaders are allowed to leave the compound to get supplies. We can't risk anyone else being corrupted.
I agree, clubs can be known as cult like. Port seems to be heavily in protection mode and only going from inside
