Geelong rumoured to be keen on Darcy, especially with their flexible salary cap and ability to get trades done with a third round pick.

Let me guess .... like 98% of AFL footballers Darcy comes from Torquay and wants to return home to surf with Paddy Dangerfield.

Close, more a Tom Hawkins type farm boy. Did play for Geelong Falcons.

Originally from South Purrumbete, a farming area near Cobden, Darcy is the youngest of four children and attended Xavier College as a boarder. As a junior, Darcy played for the Cobden Football Club and was also a talented swimmer. In 2016 he played for the Geelong Falcons in the TAC Cup Under 18s competition, his school and for Victoria Country in the 2016 AFL Under 18 Championships.[1]

Is there a ruck we could actually afford that fits our mould. Can't see us getting Darcy somehow.

I liked what I saw from Briggs at GWS on the weekend but cant think of many others. Ladhams would undoubtedly fit our group so well right now.

Spend to get McKay, then find a way to sneak in a ready to go Lycett improvement and the squad would be in a good spot.

Ah, the famous 'surf coast'.

I'm picturing endless warm and sunny days, palm tree lined beaches, just a paradise on earth really.

That's what it's like, right?

I've driven down there expecting to see something out of Hawaii 50 guys in Thunderbird Convertibles cruising the strip with their best girl sipping a coke.

Nah.

Just read an article online re Georgitheartist. It said he would command $600k whether at Port or West coast. That sounds high for an out of form player who won't be able to play next year.
If the Eagles want him would we take their second pick plus Jack Darling?

Darling is like 100 years old and holds no currency at all.

Why won't he be able to play next year? is it a 2 year acl?

If the Eagles want him it needs to equate to both their 2nd round picks (21 & 27) that would be fair based on past performance (season 2020 & 2021), his age and future performance. He's only 21 and will be a 10+ year player. That would be fair trade.

In the worse case scenario Miles decides to head home, on current form & trajectory what would be a fair return?

Worst case scenario, fair would be a pick in the teens, something closer to where we took him at 14 imo. We'd probably take something as bad as 19 if thats all the the desired destination could drum up.

There will be some who say 'Top 10 or gtfo!' Had Miles shown a bit more on a wing then you could argue but noones giving up picks inside top 12 for someone in his current role.
