Definitely worth a top 10 pick. When the Vic media pays attention to a Port player you know they must be doing something extraordinary.

Especially if there is more than one club interested.

I still think Miles will sign with Port, just building his value by playing at a level we expected when we recruited him.

If he leaves I'm more interested in getting Redman in as FA, rather than worrying about if we're getting pick 15 or 20.

He looks the same, plays a similar role and is in line for All Aus. At the moment its basically between Essendon and the Crows.
I hate to say it but this is the way to build a list. Take a first rounder for a guy like Bergman and sign a guy who plays the same role like redman for nothing. Georgiades and himmelburg would be a similar move. It would mean more salary cap in both cases though.

In the worse case scenario Miles decides to head home, on current form & trajectory what would be a fair return?

Prepare to be disappointed. I don't think wingmen provide value at the trade table. As much as i'd want a top 12 pick, it would more likely be somewhere around the 20-25 mark.

I think the statement is true, wingman don’t get value at the trade table, but I think that’s more outside wings rather than Bergman, who’s shown elite traits as a halfback and has the size physicality and skills to play on ball.

And young too! I would think fair value has the word teen in it. But I hope it doesn't come to that.

Saints first pick.

If that pick is before the Crows then that could land us Ashton Moir who is making noises about being very family oriented when speaking to interstate clubs along with battling a hip injury that affecting his form and possibly his draft ranking.

We would need that pick to be before the Crows.

You could maybe argue swapping a pick around but mid draft picks who cares?

Would 100% prefer we signed him.

Didn’t Fremantle receive pick 2 from the Suns for Lachie Weller? Granted, we are talking about the Surfers Paradise FC, but surely Miles would have more value then a pick in the mid to late teens?

I see him as a genuine bonafide utility who still has enormous upside. I think people are severely underestimating his draft capital & wouldn’t be surprised if we got an early first rounder if he does decide to leave.

If that trade were the benchmark for all other trades then nearly every player that switches clubs would go for pick 2 lol.

Top 6 pick minimum for miles.

But we need to keep him
No way are we getting that for Bergman. We'll be lucky to get a 1st rounder. We will need him to select a trade to a top team if we are any chance, someone that has a late first they are happy to part with.

Personally I think Bergman is 100% gone. Really disappointing. Don't know where his GF lives, but if she isn't here in Adelaide, with this delay, I can't seem him staying. I hope I'm wrong but I think we need to prepare for the worst.

It might not be the worst thing for our list to create an opening for Sinn and bring in another 2023 1st rounder, it will continue the spread of talent age. The only problem is you need to nail that draft pick. If we don't nail it it's a huge loss.

Ive said it before but Bergmans current year is tracking like a future AA
What would you pay for a 22yo Tom Stewart (not him specifically though obviously)

Lachie Weller levels of logic aside…..

I would be extremely disappointed if we can’t resign Miles, really value him and his development since coming to the club.

Super unlucky with 2020, was on the cusp of selection bar covid. Played every game 21 and by the season out, barring injury, he will bring up 50 after 2 injury and illness ridden years.

The kids more than a wingman. He’s a 50/50 arc utility in training. That’s where I am opposed to losing him. If we do we just have to make sure the entire industry understands how much he’s worth.

With Pittonet signing a 4 year deal, is Tom De Koning looking for a first ruck position?

Not sure if this belongs here, but I didn't want to bump both the Butters AND Rozee threads:

Champion Data’s Top 10 midfielders 24 or under:

10 - Luke Davies-Uniacke, 23, North Melbourne
9 - Shai Bolton, 24, Richmond
8 - Adam Cerra, 23, Carlton
7 - Tom Green, 22, GWS
6 - Errol Gulden, 20, Sydney
5 - Zak Butters, 22, Port Adelaide
4 - Jai Newcombe, 21, Hawthorn
3 - Connor Rozee, 23, Port Adelaide
2 - Caleb Serong, 22, Fremantle
1 - Noah Anderson, 22, Gold Coast

Two mids in the top 5 under 24. Amazing when you think Houston is 26, JHF isn't here yet but if he stays injury-free he should be there soon, and on top of that we have a Brownlow medalist and the AFL games record holder in the mix.

Noah Anderson is wasting his life.

Surprised Chad Warner isn’t in that list.

Although, it was really only this year he has stepped up.

Are these just on this year's stats or something. Just not quite understanding how Rozee is not topping that list. I mean it is hard to order the rest of the group, but Rozee is one of the elite of the entire competition, let alone this group.

I'm not sure but from memory I think it uses this year and then with a discounted part of last year.

Stats also don't take in to account what you do with it.

Noah Anderson has been very, very good though.
