Parker is 5 years younger, he’s still only 28...
And he’s 14 games ahead at the same age Boak was.

If they get him i dont think they have an excuse for missing the 8 anymoreI reckon Gold Coast throw the kitchen sink at him
They ad someone like Parker to their list in the middle with those kids and they start to propel up towards the 8
Clearly somethin wrong with Sydneys salary cap atm, I assume they will "fix" (let go of a couple of others) it though since losing the co captain and reigning b&f would be crushingCannot believe the $500k figure being thrown. Is that a pay cut? How could he not be on $700-800k. They were paying Hannebury that kind of money to do SFA. I thought Buddy's payments were due to go down, something doesn't add up.
Tom Phillips was on 600k, Chris Mayne was on 550k lolCannot believe the $500k figure being thrown. Is that a pay cut? How could he not be on $700-800k. They were paying Hannebury that kind of money to do SFA. I thought Buddy's payments were due to go down, something doesn't add up.
It's common knowledge that Hayward is on 500+ a year, for whatever reason i dont know why. I'm sure there must be a few others similar then.Cannot believe the $500k figure being thrown. Agree but Witts ACL so have no proper ruck still. Unless we make a bid for Chol. We got smashed without a proper ruck, and no Zac Smith does not countIf they get him i dont think they have an excuse for missing the 8 anymore
Well Smith is retiring so yeah he doesnt count, A ruck is definitely the big weakness but you should be able to get atleast someone in whoes better then what you have now, which i guess probably isnt saying muchAgree but Witts ACL so have no proper ruck still. Ryan Okeefe was in a similar status and Horse parked him in the twos when he was still decent. He and Kennedy are the heart and soul of that club - no way the Swans let him leave.
What a load of crap. It's common knowledge that Hayward is on 500+ a year, for whatever reason i dont know why. I'm sure there must be a few others similar then.
Tbh I can understand Sydney not paying Parker 700 - 750k...
Turning 29 in a month, 4 year deal means he gets paid 750k at the age of 33, and the contested way he plays doesn't usually lead to high durability either.
The logical move would 100% be to sell him off to GC and try grab their 1st pick. The complication comes from Sydney's club strategy, and their proximity to a flag.
Although I actually see a lot of opportunity for Sydney. Sydney has like what, 500k in their cap for a starting midfielder?
(1) Trade Parker + Pick 12 for Pick 3 + Pick 22
(2) Grab Dunstan as a FA (who I don't even rate as being that much worse than Parker, very similar players). Even Matt Crouch, Lapinski, etc would all be virtually free, and all do similar things as Parker, although at various levels
(3) And if you really want, you can easily bring in a gun with pick 3, only problem is the structuring of your salary cap
From a list management perspective, it's the cost effective Dawson and Hewett that they should be holding. At this point, GC really does not need any more picks, and they are absolutely desperate for proven talent.
Edit: UNRESTRICTED free agent?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is why we come here. And the Swans have low balled him big time offering $500k pa for 2 years. WOW!
That looks like a offer to encourage someone to leave.
IMO the Swans are doing the right thing too. Don't pay overs for aging stars.
This is why we come here.
To watch supposed grown ups latch onto a throw away troll by a random goose, then run with it.
The only thing we know is due to the covid changes in caps/salaries, Sydney's has now become "tight". Wont be the only one...we're just the only club that has been reported so far this year.
Sydney has more than likely had a running 3 yr deal at around 750K+ on the table all season waiting for him. Parker is probably just asking for 4 or maybe even 5 to match potential duration offered by other clubs....he's doing the right thing and so is the club, and after another big season i'm comfortable he will get something sweet for 4yrs and stay.
The only legitimate concern is a club like Gold Coast gets tropical and offers him a monster deal over 5yrs.
Where did you read that? Doesn't sound right at all, and haven't seen that reported or mentioned anywhere, so not sure it's "common knowledge".It's common knowledge that Hayward is on 500+ a year, for whatever reason i dont know why. I'm sure there must be a few others similar then.
