I always enjoy their perspective, I think the fact that they both live outside the WA bubble always gives their discussions a fresh feel

He was still only 17 in that photo which is partly why he was a controversial choice by Adelaide at the time. Stayed in Geelong in 2008 whilst he finished studying and only played 2 games for Adelaide late in the season. Adelaide passed over Ebert who was the popular choice for supporters

And I don’t know why he was eligible for the draft whilst still only 17

The real question is probably why Dangerfield had an extra year of school compared to everyone else.

Pumping 76 games into Ebert only to have him bounce before turning 22 was pretty disappointing. He was also 17 when he debuted for us (17 years and 362 days according to AFL Tables)

Dangerfield was an April 1990 baby along with Cotchin and Ebert. A quick look at some of the other 2007 draftees came up with most being 1989

Whilst looking at birthdates, I did recall Naitanui being ineligible for the 2007 by just a few days. His birthday is 4/5/1990 so the cutoff back then must have been 17 before April 30

As far as I can see the age was raised in 2009 to be 18 in the year you’re drafted
