Kym Dillon saying the Crows are 100% sold on Jez McLennan.

Good result.

Hes a classic Crows plodder, depth player.

Nicks loves the too good for SANFL, not good enough for AFL player

A player who is flying at Essendon in the 2s is Jackson Hately probably the best inside mid not playing AFL. Be a decent fit at the Crows.

Someone will give him another go and do well out of it.

We took two small forwards ahead of Callinan in the national draft, he hasn't done much at Centrals this year to make me think we would have changed our mind about him.

North Adelaide's Frank Zsekely's highlights are outstanding. Does anyone know why he's been overlooked?

It will be interesting to see how many Brisbane take.

4 ACLs on the inactive list, they need some help.

The winless Kangaroos are widely expected to select Geordie Payne, who has moved from halfback to a midfield/forward role in the Coates Talent League in 2024, kicking 12 goals in five games while averaging 22 disposals and 13 contested possessions.

The 18-year-old won Tasmania’s best and fairest award last year, ahead of Ryley Sanders and potential new teammate Colby McKercher, but was not picked up in the draft.

Payne was held out from the Allies’ first under-18 championships game in a strong hint of his looming selection. He has reportedly nominated for an 18-month contract.

Former Port Adelaide ruckman Brynn Teakle, who has some interest from injury-ravaged Richmond, and Box Hill Hawks midfielder Max Hall, who has been linked to St Kilda, have also nominated for the longer deal rather than just six months.

West Perth’s Jasper Scaife, a 197cm forward who was draft eligible in 2022, is the other player considered a Pick 1 chance.

Collingwood VFL medium forward Jack Hutchinson, 196cm Peel Thunder defender Jacob Blight, Woodville-West Torrens rebounding defender Luke Beecken and Adelaide SANFL forward-ruck Toby Murray (the brother of Crow Nick) are all likely to be selected early.

Brisbane have a league-high four picks after a series of ACL injuries and have been linked to players including 181cm Geelong Falcons forward Will McLachlan and Brisbane VFL midfielder Kyle Dunkley (the brother of Josh).

It would be a very Port thing to do to pick up Logan Evans who's not a requirement at all, nothing against Logan. But another Half back is not what we need but is likely to happen
From a list balance point of view, we're way overstocked for small forwards, and have enough rucks, key forwards and key backs. The areas lacking depth are midfield, particularly outside pace, and small defenders.

Problem is, the quality issue is most glaring in the small forward space, despite how over stocked we are.

I could absolutely see us taking a small defender type, but realistically we just need to take the best player we can find who might help boost our depth and give us a backup option capable of playing AFL in the short term and might even work their way into the 22 long term.
