Happy to give this kid a go. If he can lock down an opposition forward without being a complete spud going the other way, then there could be a place for him in our lineup.

I'm confused, aren't we meant to draft an undersized midfielder, and then play them as a small forward? I'm sure the MSD rules clearly state Port must do this. :think:

Nah, give the guy a fair go. If the recruiters see something in him then it's only fair he gets a preseason and some time to adjust. 18 months should be standard for mid-season draftees.

So being a mid-season draftee is better than getting rookie listed at the end of the year (12 months).

This isnt how high performance works though, and as others have pointed out its at odds with rookie contracts.

The club is far too nice here.

No surprise. Was confident from pre-season he would get picked.

As I said before, don't mind him. Tall and skilled. Still young and needs experience to learn to defend one on one but expect that with young players.
