Well, based on that evidence Hawthorn would want to improve if they want to beat Carlton next week.

Oh well, at least we get to see the kids go around again next week.

Liked the look of them all except for Zac Dawson who still worries be greatly.

Yeah was a time for him to stand up with our two best defenders out. I thought Murphy showed he can stand up if required, Dawson though.... we should have kept Joel Smith on our list.

Rioli showed good dash and pace, I'd like to see him get a game at the MCG in a more free flowing game.

Sydney showed they have some quality younger guys, and they really came out with good intensity and nearly stole the game against a us, we didn't really deserve to win in terms of effort, even though we missed plenty of chances at the end.

Hopefully Malceski is OK.

We're rubbish. We will be lucky to win 5 games

I assume you're being sarcastic? If not, I wouldn't take too much out of that result.

I got the impression the Hawks could have put the foot on the gas a bit harder at any stage had they wanted to.

The result probably represents the fact that the Hawks went into the game with a lot more senior players who just wanted to have a run and get through the game while the swans went in with a bunch of youngsters looking to prove themselves.

NAB Cup results are completely irrelevant.

That's so unfair to Sydney.

They come in and nearly steal a game with a young side who came to play, and showed great spirit, and may lose a vital player for the effort.

Its criminal how often players do knees pre-season.... I can't remember the last time it didn't happen.
