If you can positives from this shitshow you’re better than me

Truly horrible performance
Sheed was good. The time off appears to have been good for him.

A quick google search tells me St Kilda had the lowest ever percentage of 47.9 after an 18 game season

Could be wrong

But jeez lads we could easily surpass that
Above or below? We won't be getting beaten by 100 points every week when we actually get some players back.

Again, we can’t

They gave him a three year extension.
We’d kill the cap. Then we’d lose MORE staff positions, things like trainers and physios.

Because that’s exactly what we need, less S+C staff!

I totally get what you are saying. Completely. But… things have changed. I know hear of the moment etc, but there has be a response to this. We have a significant amount of money… It may be having to just cop the huge hit.

Positive- we develop key opposition forwards better than many.

I could not see us winning but the lack of desperation says a lot about the mental state of the list.
My wife said something has to be said about this. Who does the saying and listening is our problem.

We are suffering from a decade of incompetant list management and tallent identification. Coaches must change but that is papering over the systemic problems.

If the pieman trades down again he needs to be exiled to a very unpleasant place. Just so smart.

Negatives -

-
Too many to list.

Meh =

= None.

Positives +

  • Pick 1 here come.
  • Sheed.

Final thoughts.

Having pick 1 will greatly help with the rebuild as we can either draft Reid or hold a team to ransom to whoever really wants him. I do not think we'll win any games later in the season and derail our chances for a top pick and a potential priority pick like in 2009 even if we get players back if we play like this.

Someone could start a "Welcome to West Coast Harley Reid" Thread.

Reid can have jumpers 2, 3, 16, 17, 22, 24, 25, 26, 29, 35, 36, 39 and 42.

I don’t think I’m overreacting here.

We are suffering from issues far worse than player injuries and performance.

There is rot and toxicity throughout each level of the footy club and it’s clearly impacting on the coach and players.

Easy to make points from the outside I know. The club has needed a clean out from above for years. Our list management has been woeful. For an incredibly wealthy club, our strength and conditioning has been a complete failure. Our AFL, WAFL teams are in absolute shambles. The entire organisation is in shambles and it’s clear it’s taking a huge toll on what’s left. There is no light at the end of the tunnel at this point in time.

I’m sure plenty of you have experienced similar workplaces as have I - it’s a bloody nightmare to be apart of.

The fans will sit on their hands and accept it so the rot will continue im afraid.

The club will make a profit this year and that means we are a success in the eyes of the decision makers

I'm Dom Sheed's biggest critic so I'd think it'd be unfair to not say he was good today. Probably the only player working to the positions he needed to be all game. Dropped away in H2 but was very good H1.

The biggest negative is the glut of guys with 4-5 years or more of football in them that don't have more than one (if that) genuine effort in them. They'll run hard for a mark drop it and then stop - see Jake Waterman. The complete disinterest in tackles, watching players jog after an oppponent in Q1 of the match the players certainly don't care for Simmo and his job stability.

We understand the injuries, we understand there are some young blokes on this list but the lack of effort and desire to spark this team to contest and win is truly troubling. The only real solution seems to be a complete team overhaul to try and put together a young core group of players that want to do what it takes to win a premiership and enforce those standards across all players.

The sooner we get the players off the list that need to play the third forward, loose defender, half back flanker because they simply don't want to play the hard football the better.

Looking at this it will be the better part of a decade before we are playing finals again. The club off field, something is completely rotten, I'm not sure any of us can point to what it is but issues are more than injuries.

On field it's going to be pain. The older guys won't be there, the kids are mostly crap unfortunately, and stuck in the middle we have Allen wondering what he is doing with his career.
