Trent Cotchin is retiring.
Is this just one of those bored school kid fantasy trade suggestions that gets made when they don’t want to do their homework?
If ESS contract isn't enough to get band 1 they will 100% match and force a trade IMOIs this a surprise?
...and once Ess has to trade for him ..surely that means they reconsider all options.

Considering how injury prone he has been i would if i was another teams list manager not pay anything near band 1 compo.I have said it before ... it makes no sense to only offer 600 ish ..when they have the cap room to add extra dollars and get him for no trade cost. They could always do a bit of a Daniher contortion if they wanted to.
Si If Ess want him..and they feel its possible to get him for zero picks they will offer band1 money. What that does if Parish wants out...
They can say if as much a they want. Essendon needs to run its own raceSeems like a wink wink give us pick 3 as a priority pick disguised as FA compensation.
It all depends on what he wants. If I was him, I'd choose Sydney. Much better club, much better prospect of success, and not as much media spotlight being out of the big city.
If he goes to Essendon and they have another sub par year, then hoo boy, will he cop it.
I say this as someone who still thinks Parish re-signs, and have been 99% on this all year.

At least they are finding enjoyment in their year , a few of our own could learn from thatHow up and about are Hawthorn fans at the moment? Outside of the 3 gimmes against North and West Coast they're 3 wins and 14 losses. The way they're going you'd think they were sitting top 4.
I reckon par for them this year was 5 wins and they have 6 including one against the best side in the league right now. They're not a spoon contender and at this rate won't be. I think they're within their rights to breathe a sigh of relief and hold some hope that the rebuild is going to rapidly precipitate. How up and about are Hawthorn fans at the moment? If you’re in their position and don’t have hope you’ve got nothing.I reckon par for them this year was 5 wins and they have 6 including one against the best side in the league right now. When round 1? Anyone could see that the team was up against it with the year we had have with injuries and fitnessBit easier when you have zero expectations.
We were flag fav's and have performed well under.
That Melbourne match to finish off is going to be bloody tough. Melbourne need it to finish top 2.Looks like Swans could actually make the 8 this season, if things fall their way. Hard to believe 6 weeks ago.
