Just a reminder of who the "experts" at Fox Footy thought would go out in straight sets. Odd that not one picked the team who is the most likely to do just that now - Port Adelaide!

Sydney's workrate just isn't matching GWS. They need to take risks here. Having the double chance is the perfect time to take risks to try and win the home Prelim. Going gently into the night is such a bitch move in a qualifying final...

Briggs has improved significantly since early 2023.
Different player at this stage of his career.
He's beating Grundy handedly who is no slouch himself

Grundys no slouch but his early season form was incredible and he has dropped off a bit since about Rd 16 or 17.
And Briggs is the type of ruck that a Grundy hates because Briggs is able to physically smash into him at every chance and work him around the ground.
Grundy atm winning the hit outs but he wants a ruck like a Gawn who gives him space around the ground.
Briggs is physically working him over. Thats not going to be the case with a ruck like Stanley who has him covered for pace.

This game has turned.....
And just like that GWS weathered the storm, slotted 2 quick goals and got it back out to a 20 point buffer.

Not sure we will see teams rattling off 5/6 goals in a row like we have during the season.

Skills have been down, sure, but the pressure has been immense. I've been enjoying this game so far.
What it lacks in goal kicking accuracy and precision footskills around the park, it makes up for in pressure, argy bargy, players antagonizing each other and being unnecessarily physical.

Plus players going with the panicked long bomb means we are getting players going for frequent speccies.
