Hmm some of the proposed changes aren't bad such as getting rid of the 6-6-6 warning or reducing set shot clock to 20 but at the same time it just seems like the AFL is throwing shit against a wall and seeing what sticks instead of actually coming up with a well reasoned plan.

Heeney won some games individually- not sure he can do that again, but Gulden, and Warner, if he stays, are part of a formidable trio. It's ridiculous speculating now, but there are several teams that have excellent prospects- Bulldogs, Carlton, Hawthorn as well. Will not include us in this thread, but we are always there and abouts.
Yes a great midfield, but Sydney don’t have a forward line. It especially showed in the GF when they had no targets going forward.
Until they get a gun key forward they won’t be winning the flag.
Can’t rely just on mids to get it done.

Didnt know where to post this , so i will put it here , because its a bit of a laugh

On the Sydney Morning Herald newsfeed about half an hour ago , news story , Your guide to every horse in contention for the Melb Cup - so i thought i will have a read of that

Apparently still 33 qualified so there is a comment on each , and i was interested in last weeks Geel Cup winner , USA horse , but with a Yorkshire trainer and also Yorkshire owners . horses name Onesmoothoperator , and apparently last 20 years , 3 Geel Cup winners have won the Melb Cup the same year so its a pretty good formline

Anyhow this is the comment about this horses chances , and Danny Russell (whoever he is) wrote this

1ST of 13 Group 3 Geelong Cup 2400 metres " Smashed the Geel Cup field in one of the most dominant displays on a Corio Bay sporting field since Gary Ablett Snr booted 12 against Richmond at KP in 1993 " - ha - ha-ha

Brisbane should be red hot favourites for the flag right now.

They underachieved in 2024 and still won the flag. Their coach is the biggest drawback, but that list is primed to be great.

The only way they go backwards is if they have more injuries than they did this year (they had plenty) and/or they can’t figure out how to replace Daniher.
They do have a tendency to go BtBtB once they are hot.
It'd be great to see that again- I loved their 3-peat, nearly a 4-play.
Agree about all that you said.
I (probably we all) have no idea who will win it next year- that said, I did pick Brisbane about now 12months ago for 2024, and they finally came through.
They have been underachievers.
Their coach is fine- they play for him.
Their list is #1 in the comp, even minus Joe Daniher, imho.
Ashcroft junior sounds ready to go, and their MF is already extraordinary.
