🚨 But WHY is nobody in the Media talking about GWS?

• Weeks 1-7 : 751 @ 107.2pts avg
• Weeks 8-16 : 557 @ 69.6pts avg

For ALL of the talk we hear about Melbourne’s dysfunctional Forward Line on a Weekly Basis..

And how BORING Ross has made St Kilda..

BOTH of those teams have average more Points For since Round 7.

  • HOGAN : Career best form
  • TOBY : AA Captain
  • DANIELS : “Elite” Score Involvements
  • BEDFORD : “Elite” Pressure
  • CADMAN : Number 1 pick
  • BROWN : A unicorn “that scares
defences”
- RICCARDI : Avg 1.5 goals in 2024

• Arguably MORE talent in that Forward line than RICH, NM, WC, St K, MELB, PORT, ESS, ADEL, FREO, GC, HAW & COLL..

• Yet are the 4TH WORST offence in the league atm.

• 7 x Goals worse than Rounds 1-7.

Be nice to see them dissected during the week in my opinion.

Long overdue for some Analysis.

Why couldn't we play THAT GWS?

We often talk about Selwood and Pendlebury as some of the best and most consistent players to never win a Brownlow, but there is every chance that Bontempelli will never win one and that is criminal. He is so much of a better player than Wines, Cripps, and Neale, yet they have 4 between them and every nonbiased footy fan would take Bontempelli ahead of them every day of the week.
Neale doesn't deserve 1 let alone 2.

He's soft as butter and goes to ground at the first hint of contact.

I'd sooner have Bontempelli at the Cats every day of the week.

They've started to talk about it a bit on Fox Footy yesterday

I reckon 90% of knowledgeable footy watchers would choose Bont over Neale. He can do som much more as a player and leader.

Neale is a quality mid, but him having 2 Brownlow is just confirmation that the award goes to the midfielder with the most possessions.

Now, all good teams need high possession mids, but Bont can do so much more than that.

And the best-player-in-the-comp Toby Greene instead of the can't-get-a-kick Toby Greene that other teams have gotten this year.
People on here called me crazy for suggesting that Stengle is on the same level as Toby Greene. Right now he is better.

Absolutely - he's also way more humble than Neale is and is a better leader of men by the length of the Nullabor plain.

It's not even a contest! Bont any day.

Bont IMO is the most influential player in the comp at the moment. Trouble is - like the Brownlow - we tend to favour MFers.

But he is carrying the Doggies on his back.

[edit - MFers. What was I thinking?]
