Best role is probably as a goalsneak. As long as he is unmarked and forward of the play, he can use his mediocre leg speed to run into open goals and usually manages to slot them.

Gets his hands to the ball in a lot of marking contests - then drops it.

Has all the rucking nous of David Pittman on a bad day.

Seriously though, no sour grapes, the guy is a dud; if the Eagles are light-on for rucking options, it would almost be better to go the Dogs route and play an undersized non-ruckman who can at least contribute around the ground.

I know how highly touted he was a few years ago and his run with injuries.
What was his deal with poor form in the VFL this year and is his body ok now and ready for pre season?

If he ever learns how to hold onto a mark then he will be something special. Having said that i havnt seen him play in the vfl post injury this year so info might be outdated

He was alright in 2013 before injuries hit which is why north signed him to a long term deal. See if he can recapture it. Decent backup kpf for stanley.

He will have to work he's backside off to get games in the best 22.
He's more a forward than a ruckman he hasn't rucked a lot in he's time at Geelong.
So I reckon he will have to play career best footy to help fill the void for NN.

Hopefully with pick 24 Wells can find a ready made, 2017 impact, young midfielder who can continue to improve and likes playing in Geelong - someone exactly like Caddy! What a horrendous trade by the club - up there with the great fk up trades of all time. Skinny kid draft selections are not what we need right now - quality midfield depth we needed and we went backwards. Borderline final team now. Chris Scott's days are numbered.
