Just curious.....if Team A are paying part of a player's contract while he's at Team B, whose salary cap is that payment listed under, Team A or Team B?
Whatever you pay comes under your cap, so if Richmond are paying part of Deledio's contract at the Giants it comes under the Tigers cap as in the contract it will state that.
Same as when Scully's Dad's pay had to go into the Giants cap that time and how Collingwood have been paying $50-70k of Shaw's contract whilst he has been at the Giants. That $50-70k is counted under the Pies cap

If stanley wanted to leave he is 24 hours late to make it be known.

He will stay. Geelong are just counting the change they are left with post trades. We will have enough judging from the hail mary trade for the overpriced black.

Maybe not, but he still didn't deliver. That's my point. Perhaps his work rate wasn't high enough?

Reckon you're a bit harsh on Hawkins.....he kicked 55 goals this year...more than Cameron, Gunston, both Riewoldts,.Taylor Walker, Darling, Daniher.....etc and as a KPF only behind Kennedy, Franklin and Jenkins.

Not stellar, but pretty good all the same. I think he delivered ok in 2016.

The gws draft pick riches bugs me too. Likely as broke as we are cap wise but fling a few paltry 1st rounders around and use everyone elses cap instead.

The expansion clubs can trade in first round players and picks for years still.

I thought that he was ok. I think that he's capable of much more though. That's all I'm trying to say.

he cant when he has 3 players on him

Good on you Mahlepi!! Don't give in to this crap.
Hawkins rarely gets one out. Rarely gets it kicked to him in space. Moreover the crap he gets and almost no protection from the umpires is deadset unbelievable.

maybe say that- not
"I don't agree that Hawkins delivered whatsoever."
If I think that he's capable of much more then it is only fair to say that I don't think that he delivered whatsoever. I stand by it.

And perhaps if he decided to lift his work rate the delivery wouldn't be as bad as it was in 2016.

Only if the market pays that price, if clubs stop offering them 1st rounders all the time then their monopoly on the draft will end

Senior list outs: Enright, Bartel, Caddy, Vardy, Kersten, Smedts, Clark?, Luxford?

Senior list ins: Tuohy, Black, Ruggles (promoted?), Pick 24, Pick 38, Pick 42, Pick 64?, Pick 72?

I guess something like that will be the final wash up. I don't see Clark staying personally. I think they need to find a back up ruck from somewhere, either delisted free agent or the state leagues.

Next trade period, can we arrange to take Nakia Cockatoo to a secure secret location? We can take turns taking him food. Once the 2pm deadline passes, we can safely return him to the Geelong Footy Club list management team.
Depends on how he goes this year.

I'm really not sold on him. He has talent, no doubt, but he's still very raw, and I'm not sure GFC is currently the place where raw talent is sculpted into something better. He might be better off somewhere else. If clubs are willing to give a first rounder for him next year, then that might be the way to go.

I think Clark and Luxford should both go and depending on what is available the club should look at delisted free agents.
With a dfa, some good players with our first 3 picks, f/s Simpson and possibly a VFL player of two. That should be a decent haul to round out the list.

The rookie list has a number of spots to fill as well. Hopefully a couple of our VFL listed players are available there.
