Barlow is the best of the likely DFAs not sure we need an inside mid though.

I wouldnt be against henderson and Richards wouldnt be the worst kpf insurance although i doubt he comes here.

Don't want Richards and reckon he will nominate for pre season draft and get to essendon.
I'll take Henderson, see if wells is still awake.
Someone call him and tell him to do it now

-Touhy in is right on the money for what we needed. I praise that deal.
-Caddy out whilst not ideal is managable. Reminds me a little when we traded Moloney, good player but plenty of others to run through midfield. I think Menegola & Lang will be quite capable to push on.
-kersten always gonna go. Black in to replace him, fine, whatever.
Vardy, i had high hopes but he never consistantly played.
- Smedts. Dont care really.
- We keep Motlop. He comes into 2017 with tomohawks boot up his bum

And Scotty's and Joel's to boot!!

No wonder you guys were so keen to get rid of him!

Was he judged as having decent potential? Why was he paid so much?

Played a couple good seasons and contract extended based on continued improvement and also Freo was pissing In his ear to get him back home 3 years ago so we paid slight overs at the time. Shoulder injury shot his confidence and he lost his spot. Will be an upgrade on Kersten as a 3rd tall. Just needs a good run at it. We have no issues paying the $200k otherwise we will struggle to meet the minimum TPP as required by the AFL after retiring 4 players on good coin.

Henderson played some good footy in a top 8 side this year i will say.
Richards is ok but maybe black fills our quota of average kpf.
The other interesting one is gc (i havent looked at all the clubs yet). To use picks 4 (bowes) 6 8 10 and scheer (deficit next year which is why i assume they collected all those 2017 2nds) they have to delist at least 3 more players-not sure if matera has a contract but he might be on thin ice.

I also think we need to try and rookie list some sort of backup ruck if clark is delisted (which i assume he will be).

Just looked at the drafting numbers last 10 years. Disgraceful, haven't developed an A grader since Selwood. Time for a change. Anyone who thinks we are near a flag is kidding themselves. Danger and Selwood put on brilliant years. Hawkins delivered, Enright was AA. The rest give me a spell. We've achieved nothing last 5 years yet carry on as if we are winning flags

I don't agree that Hawkins delivered whatsoever.

So Deledio has taken a pay cut to join GWS. This makes our inability to work out a deal for him even more perplexing. There is definitely something fishy going on.
Future planning perhaps? Did Well`s think the risk wasnt worth it? 3 years for a then 33yo on decent coin?

Forget Barlow, waste of a list spot.

Fyfe's the one who is attainable next year.

We've got plenty of list spots.

We could have Barlow for a year, he could tell Fyfe how awesome it is.
GAJ >Smith
Selwood >Selwood
Henderson >Tuohy
Barlow >Fyfe

he cant when he has 3 players on him
Maybe not, but he still didn't deliver. That's my point. Perhaps his work rate wasn't high enough?

Anyway, if you want to keep quoting me, go for your life. But when I ask you a question and you choose not to respond the only conclusion that I can come up with is that you have NFI what you're talking about.

So for the 3rd time, is Stanley OOC or does he have another year to run on his current contract?

Now that a bit of time has passed I don't feel as bad about the trade period. Certainly not exactly what I wanted to happen but some pieces fell how Geelong wanted.

Really happy to get Tuohy and Black both the right type of players we needed.
Disappointed to lose Kersten and Caddy Vardy to some degree. Hearing Caddy and Wells speak shed a lot of light on the situation as opposed to what the media said.

Hope that Wells can find some good players with 24 and the other picks.
The team for next season looks very good still on paper. A lot of improvement to come from many parts of the team. The depth has been lost a little bit but hopefully that can be overcome by players growth.

Look forward to welcoming some more Geelong cats players in a few weeks.

They all now get a chance to show what theyve got. Maybe a calculated risk to give these boys a run and save some cap space for next year losing Caddy!!

Unleash the ****!!!!!!!!!

Plonk him in the middle, and then swing to the HFF at times.

Think everyone needs to take a slight breathe.

Yes on face value right now it looks shit and bent over-esque.

This has placed a lot of pressure on wells to get a great kid with pick 24.

The jury is still out a little as we don't know what he has in mind with 24.

If wells goes to the draft and grabs an A grade talent, then will this trade be a win?

It seems pretty difficult to find out what's happening with Stanley. Can't find anything saying what he signed when he came to the club. Although he had 1 year to run on his Saints deal when he was traded to Geelong.

This article from this year says they believe he is out of contract this year.

ok champion
not sure where i stated i knew every single players contract, but alas
my memory was that he had signed on for 2 years
keep it personal
Oh so now you're not sure? You seemed pretty sure when you were telling everyone that he was coming OOC and that big money was being offered. Maybe, just maybe you decide to make things up from time to time. Just an observation...
