I don't know if they'll win but I certainly think GWS play a better brand & play better team footy, they may save us from more embarrassment in another PF.

It's probably better for the finals in general if we lose. The Giants would fancy a prelim against Collingwood, they actually won that exact game 4 years ago.

If Dixon is ready, I’d definitely leave in Lord and do a Blight/Pittman scenario and chuck Chuck to CHB. God knows we need some shoring up there and there’s nothing to lose. See what you’re made of Dixon.
Ken would not do this because he’s not creative and he wouldn’t have the guts.

Is PAFC your club or not ? if it is then throwing your toys out of the bassinet has to stop and we have to man up and take what comes after exhausting our best efforts on field. Get behind PAFC or get out of the way you are part of the solution, don't be part of the problem, have your vent, then pull up your socks and get ready for the next battle.

Well bloody fukin said.

Actually genuinely want Bonner in the team, his finals record is bizarrely awesome.
Small sample size but Good call, also likes playing GWS

Bonner averages career (90 games) v finals (only 3) v avg against GWS (2 games)
Disposals 17 v 24 v 27
Goals 0.1 v 0.3 v 0
Tackles 1.2 v 1.3 v 1.5
R50 3.0 v 4.3 v 5.0
I50 2.2 v 3.7 v 3.0
Clearances 0.7 v 1.0 v 1.5
1% 1.6 v 4.0 v 1.5
Bounces 0.3 v 1.0 v 0

What if I told you that what is said on a forum in the dark corner of the internet has absolutely no bearing on what happens onfield

A positive message from our sponsor.

In the game against the Giants this week, Ken Hinkley will have coached the most amount of games without making a Grand Final with 248 games in the bag.

Thank you David 'stability being 2nd rate' Koch FTL.
So in a hypothetical world, the GF could be his 250th.

Call the AFL, they’d love the narrative.

Raz is a must in, Mcentees golden pass has ran out.

If Dixon's fit he comes in for Williams and Finlayson plays CHB.
I like the twin towers thinking, but you would have to have both Rioli and Fantasia at their feet and have the HFF play up the field - 4 man forward line and run in waves towards it. GWS’s defence is an elite unit tho.

Curnow and McKay
Cameron and Hawkins.
Dixon and Lord.

Im betting that we’ll just revert to whoever played in the last win over them. with forced changes from that game being McKenzie and Williams. And Hayes out for Lycett.
Im betting Evans will find a way in somehow.

Imo well done the moderation of the title. Speaking as a football traditionalist attending games of sanfl when there was 2 groups of spectators scattered in the crowd, the banter could be an enjoyable part of attending the game. It was funny, niggling and spontaneous.
Social media is instant can be inclusive but also gives voice to what of would not been found ok to either opposing football supporters at a game. It can be outside the spirit of supporting, barracking, critiquing for a team. The physical proximity of other voices could have had a self regulating effect. A reason that social media requires moderating and able an acceptable degree of voice to anyone who posts.

Lol if Hinkley had just picked pasini ducking once in the past 2 years, just once in the midst of most of our tall defenders sucking balls and Hinkley instead blooding flanker #37478..

Now there’s no chance they pick pasini to play in a final and odds are we roll into a game v gws with a single key defender

BLOODY WELL SAID

Hmmm. Giants look likely to knock us off. They are playing well, have a good list, are well coached and will come to adelaide oval without fear. Straight sets seems likely.

We have lost the run, the dash, the elite kicking, the defensive pressure, the scoring. We look exhausted and beaten up. We will likely lose Williams. Maybe McKenzie too. Cupboard is bare.

But we need to win. And then find a way to beat the pies, then whoever we will meet in the GF. That’s the plan, that’s the goal. Doesn’t change after getting belted at the Gabba.

We need to optimise what we have and strengthen our weaknesses.

We have a hole down back. We don’t have any key backs to step in. We need hard running wings, we don’t have em. Seems the only thing working at the moment is Lord and our midfield.

We are up against it playing the giants. Might as well lose by plenty as lose by a kick.

So let’s try something. Marshall to CHB. Let him intercept and use his game smarts to help link up out of defence. Boak stays as sub. Raz into the forward line. Hayes/Visentini in to co share ruck.

Then isolate various forwards through the game, be it Rioli, Lord, Lycett, Hayes, etc and then have our small forwards running back into an open forward fifty. Clog the Giants’ midfield, curb their run and then get out the back.

I used up all my confidence last week, the tank is dry, don’t even think I’ll bother to go to this game now after last nights embarrassment. Same old but worse. At least we played well in the QF in 2020 and 2021.
