Carlton have some generational talent on their squad, but geez they have some crap around it, and their ingrained culture of losing is going to be hard to break. They honestly probably needed a Neil Craig, Ross Lyon type coach up front. Someone to drill them into a way of operating and playing, before someone else came in and took them to success. I don't believe Vossy is the man to change that culture.

What you described is Carlton for the last 20 odd years.
They have always had some top shelf players but drop off to very average types after that.

Worth hunting up Wednesday's Footy Classified and hearing Eddie McGuire laying into coterie groups, including Collingwood's.
 
Carlton should trade Sam Walsh to us. Would be reasonable, they're not using him. And then Kane Cornes could compare them* more easily.
