The reason they haven’t sacked Simpson is because their list is poo and the next guy is likely to get it in the neck within 18 months as well.
Quite right. West Coast are further back than North Melbourne now and they may as well leave Simpson in place to do what he's actually doing now, begin the West Coast rebuild. If they sack Simpson (or he quits) they need a journeyman assistant to cover because all aspiring coaches know that being a new appointee as head coach for a rebuild is career death.

Schofield will be coach of West Coast by tomorrow morning.
People say things like "it wont change anything" but in this case they are totally right. They bring in a caretaker and they'll do absolutely no better. They would be better off letting old mate tank the year and switch coaches afterwards and do the whole "rebuild" thing where they get in fresh coaches, try get a few players/picks etc.

I’m not 100% sure but I think he’s contracted till 2025?
I guess they have the cash to pay him out anyway but if you took over that job you would want a long contract… knock knock, who’s there? Ken !

When he has to come to work and face the music about having literally no players available it wouldn't exactly be exciting. He'd feel pretty powerless.
I heard they had about 20 players from their senior list to choose from this week - their injury toll is horrific.
