Massive egos for a team that can only count a wooden spoon as their achievement in the last 5 years.

Players make a difference, they have picked up a coupe of good players and that’s been enough to move them up from the sea bed.
Same with us but on a bigger scale not only picking up JHF but the improvement within the squad and having young guys like Lord and Williams come from nowhere.
The big help is the competition is shyt so you don’t have to improve massively to be at least playing finals.
Every year one team comes form outside the 8 from the previous year and jumps up the ladder.
This year it could be Port.

Adelaide has three players in the top 100 in the league for contested possessions, with two of them being 200 gamers in Laird and Sloane (the third is Dawson). They are a bit better for ground ball gets, with 5 players in the top 100 (Laird, Dawson, Soligo, Rankine and Sloane). So take Laird and Sloane out of the equation, and they have Dawson in the top 100 for contested possessions and Dawson, Soligo and Rankine for ground balls.

That means the majority of Adelaide's drive out of midfield comes from two players that will see their performance diminish over the coming years.

Compare that to Port, who has the following:

Butters, Wines, Horne-Francis, Dixon, Drew, Rozee, Lycett in the top 100 for contested possessions.
Butters, Wines, Horne-Francis, Drew and Rozee in the top 100 for ground ball gets.

If AFC listened to King's analysis, they'll make the exact same mistake Port did in 2014 when a few flukey wins made us think we were in contention for a flag.

Must have watched a different game, Brisbane convert and that game is over at 3/4 time.
