I would have been 'okay' with a defiant loss today, but not for one second am I pissed that we won. This is how you rebuild, by winning. Not by hanging all your hopes on one player. North Melbourne has been doing that for the past 5 years and have shown nearly no improvement.

G'day all. A very important win for the confidence and development of our players (and the club itself, though some would contest if that's a good thing, which is understandable in the context of our past two seasons). Overall, an invaluable experience going into the off-season, but now there's absolutely no excuses to back it up with another effort next week, though we will have some sore bodies.

I thought we were excellent in controlling the tempo of the game at stages in the 2nd and 3rd after building a lead in the 1st (how good is having an early lead??), only to unleash again in the last. The lads are learning on the fly and the senior players stood up without Hurn or Shuey.
