Positives and Negatives vs GWS

I think most of the positives have been covered. Duggan was brilliant for a first gamer. His ability to put the ball to advantage was notable. NN just makes things happen. Yeo and Shuey give us grunt in the middle. The Gov and Schoey doing better than we could have hoped. Hill and Wellingham stepping up (for now). Cripps and Shep seemed to have taken a step up. All that good stuff....until next week when we get pumped by Port.

One thing I think has been glossed over, is our performance in the first term. Although we won the quarter, we really didn't provide any overlap run to support players with the ball. We constantly had the ball in space only to have no one to kick to. No one ran to space and no one provide any overlap run for much of the quarter. This was in contrast to GWS who, when they won the ball, had about 6 guys in open space. Frankly, it was a miracle we won the quarter. Certainly the second half was a complete reversal of this, but I think against better teams, we will be flogged because of inability to prevent teams getting wide open when they spread and to also provide options to our own players to move the ball on quickly.

This is the saddest post in BigFooty history. Bring on the new stadium and/or some sort of membership admission test based on your understanding of a zone structure.

Kill me now.

Me too. Disgraceful response reminiscent of forelock tugging in earlier times. Incidentally, many of you are slinging off at the age of our supporters but support for the monarchy here is now strongest amongst 18-25 year olds. This was reinforced for me when I went into a small pizza joint in Subi after the game. There were thee young girls there simpering over their phones at pictures of the new arrival at Kensington Palace. They were behaving as if this event was the best thing to have happened in their lives ... Royalty is just part of the global celebrity cult and those who fawn over celebrities like Harry Windsor and Justin Bieber deserve contempt.

That's interesting. What's the evidence exactly?
A Fairfax-Nielsen poll, published on the day William and Kate and bonny Prince George (dubbed "the republican slayer" on breakfast television) landed in Sydney in mid-April, found only 28 per cent of respondents aged 18 to 24 backed the idea of an Australian head of state. Sixty per cent said no to a republic - more than any other age group (the next closest were the over 55s).

Rather than renouncing the monarchy, young Australians are embracing it - in greater numbers than their parents or grandparents.

Positive - Loving both Yeo and Duggan atm. Surprised some people are saying that Duggan's kicks were a bit off, I have to disagree. Plus his use by hands were better then I first thought pre draft, he is da gun.

My favourite moment was when Scully has the ball running to forward 50 to only be crunched by a Yeo tackle, ball spills out. Yeo gets up then competes 1 on 1 against a different GWS player to win the contested possession, stands in the tackle and kicks to a player open on the wing. This guy is going to help the rot in our midfield, he rarely lost a 1 on 1 battle on Saturday night, dare I say it was Fyfe-esque. There must be something in the waters at Aquinas :drunk:

How many people voted in the poll? I must admit that I am always skeptical of their results.

Who really gives a stuff if a Prince goes to the footy and attracts attention.

Would rather it be the Harry who has a bit of a cult following due to his larrikin status than a Paris Hilton or one of those Car dashboard ians.

Either way not sure what all the fuss is about.

To be fair, I think half of the oldies assumed it was old mate RAZZLE DAZZLE in the stands, such is their poor vision

That might just eliminate a lot more than the elderly.

That or if Sheeds last name is Sheed or Sheedy good 50% gone there

To be fair you did hope you were wrong
To be fair, he was noticeably hesitant to kick.
To be fair, Ochre was spot on too.
EDIT: to be fair, Hill has been quite good too lately.
To be fair, before those goals, NN hadn't touched the ball this qtr, not even a hit out.
to be fair he is doing more good than bad considering the injuries we have
To be fair, he looked like he'd been shot when he 1st did it.
What's this weird tic of people starting sentences with 'to be fair' for no reason?

Is this a meme that I don't know about?

Is it like how Ron Burgundy says 'When in Rome...'?

To be fair, you're not adding much to the discussion here

Too much time on your hands putting all that together.

I don't think I've ever been quoted in a thread I never posted in before, didn't even know you could do that.
