Yep I agree, if he's having no influence a change needs to be made, cant just let him be tagged out out of it. Saw him up in the midfield for parts and still didnt do much. Maybe just had a dog of a day like so many others

It was a dog of a day for all our players but this happens way too often to Hurn.

I'll be watching the game and hurn finally gets a kick and i just think "Well where the hell have YOU been?"
Forgot he was playing sometimes. This isn't Hurn roasting, just a personal observation. Maybe WCE need to give it to him more often or something? Try and get him into the game more? Instead of handballing to a stationary mckenzie SCOOTER

The trouble Hurn faces is due to the team's reliance on him. What a fantastic player that our opposition plays a forward on him, with the sole focus of stopping him. Theoretically, if we had 6 defenders like him, our opponents would never kick a goal.

This is an exaggeration, obviously, but it highlights the problem our defenders that aren't creative are causing the team as a whole. We could field a backline of Schofield, Hurn, Brown, Brennan, Stevenson and Shepherd, Smith too. Would our opposition still tag Hurn if we had so many rebounding options?

I'm not suggesting that should be our backline, but it'worth considering.

He needs to start kicking longer, the bloke can do 50m lace out passes or put that sucker 65 to a contest so theres nothing worse then finally freeing him up for a stat and he does a 15m chip pass sideways to mckenzie or someone else with average disposal and then dissapears again.

Something i really admire about gaff, apart from the way he carries the footy he seems to always kick 1. Forward and 2. Long and penetrating (SNAP)

Would be Good to see that sniper McPharlin get rubbed out for a couple of weeks. Not because i care about their players but for their supporters saying it would be justice if Darling had his neck broken.

disgusting slime

Really??, thats in poor taste if true. Please point me to the offending posts as I have no tolerance for those comments.

McPharlin is a fair player and his bump on Darling was to the shoulder, Darling threw his head back after contact as if he was hit by a sledge hammer, Selwood did the same in the middle and was chatted by the umpire for trying to get a free kick. Not having a go at either player the AFL have snitised the game so much that players are trying to get the easy free instead of the ball.

Positives were that I wasn't able to see the game and that my DT is still doing well.

Hopefully now we can go into final's football mode. Hard at it, one on one football for the rest of the year. No more zones, press's or whatever's just beat your man (no homo) and try and get back some form. Teams are just scoring against us too easily with free players everywhere.

Yeah that's why Selwood went off for the blood rule from a cut to the head.

The replay clearly showed Selwood got a shoulder to the chin, it made the umpire look like a dick to be honest. Of course he could have been faking his split lip, players will do anything for a kick these days.

I'm looking forward to the day when Darling is our third forward behind Kennedy & Lecras, then Darling might be able to take a grab now and then. He's too inexperienced to be our 1st full forward right now

true - but it's still good for his development long term

Could still kick 50 this year. Not too bad considering the inexperience.

Just thought I'd post the compliment that Lyon paid to Kerr.

When it came to tagging Kerr or Shuey, it was pointless trying to stop Kerr. (or words to that effect)

Full marks, he is a great player.

I think Ross was just being nice when he said that, they obviously rated Shuey to be the more dangerous player and it's fairly well documented how easily tagged out of games Kerr is.

Yeah its quite common for anyone at Freo to pay WC any sort of compliment:rolleyes:

Usually its just pure bitter drivel like your post

I think he switches off at times and that is something he needs to work on.

When hes motivated and switched on he's excellent but when he is not he really struggles.

Sounds like most other footballers. Hill just cops it more, because 'lazy' was what he was tagged with at the Bulldogs and it doesn't help that we get Brad Johnson or Luke Darcy commentating our games sometimes, and they take every opportunity they can to pot him.
