those times are about right for an afl player for a 3km run, perhaps slightly slow, i would expect vb to be about nine and a half minutes. though if they did other work before this run then low tens is a pretty good result

Going by that photo of jenkins vs siggins rucking, siggins has got a heck of a leap on him! jenkins was no slouch at leaping from what i can remember of last season and in that pic siggins has more than made up for the difference in height

That picture was taken of a marking contest on the other side of the oval to me.

I was so impressed with young Sam Shaw and Brodie Smith last year. They are both promising young players who were very good in defense and Sanderson did an outstanding job in developing them last year. What i like about Shaw is that he plays that third tall type defender, he showed great composure in defense in just his second season. I can't recall Shaw having any bad games last year and Brodie Smith is a great lock down defender/back pocket type player. Not only can Smith play a lockdown role, he has also shown that he can sneak forward and kick a goal, plus he knows how to win plenty of the footy and he is still only 20. I really like Shaw & Smith, they are going to be awesome players for the Adelaide Football Club for many years to come. Talented young players. :thumbsu:

Rightio! Just got back from training. Was a superb day down at MBR. The weather was fantastic, there was a decent crowd there and David Burtenshaw was giving away free signed footys!

The drills today were quite simple. Firstly they came out onto the track in groups of 8. From my understanding there was some sort of circuit going with weights and boxing happening inside for other groups while one group came out at a time.

The first drill was pulling a ute around a course. So in groups of four they would pull the ute, while the other four would do push ups. The first group was Truck, Kerridge, Lyons and Graham. The second group was JJ, Dangerfield, Tambling and McIntyre. JJ's group won the course finishing in 1:47 beating Truck's team's 1:50

After the car pulling they had a course to do. They got into pairs (JJ/Danger, Graham/Truck, Lyons/Kerridge and McIntyre/Tambling) Player A would roll a tyre 20m up and 20m back while player B would walk around the course holding a weight above their head. Once they both finished Player B would carry rods to the end of the course while Player A walked beside them. Once at the end Player A would pick up Player B and carry them back. Once they were back, Player B had to manouver themselves around Player A without being dropped. Player A would then become the wheel barrow and go back to the other side of the course. Then Player A would brings the rods back. They then swapped roles.

Next was tug of war. JJ, Danger, Tambling and McIntyre v Truck, Graham, Kerridge and Lyons. Truck's team had a clean sweep of victories, winning 5-0.

Next out came Smack, Wright, Joyce, Smith, Riley, Crouch, Lynch, Ellis-Yolman and Sauce. Smack, Wright and Joyce went and pulled the Ute while the others stayed behind and did the course. I must say, Lynch carrying Sauce was utterly hilarious. As was Sloaney carrying Tex in the third group.

Pics coming soon :)
