I wouldn't be surprised if Fyfe doesn't come up. He looked really really sore towards the game and didn't want to kick and was struggling to run.

I hope I'm wrong because we won't be going anywhere without him.

Kennedy repeatedly dragged his team up to the line;monumental effort and heroic energy.
Wouldn't like to be manmarked by the 'biggest spud in the AFL' meself.
Fyfe's got a fortnight.

im sorry if I piss people off with my dawson hating, but seriously he cant handball or kick the ball without making a total mess of it, he either handballs to a team mate who is in more pressure than he is or he kicks straight to the opposition or does some kind of horrible kick along the ground. Stopping people from kicking goals is only 1 part of been a defender that's the only thing he gets close to doing right and even than he ***** that up and his opponent kicks a crucial goal. So I feel I am completely justified to call him a massively useless player

I know this is a tad from left field, but if Sutcliffe doesn't get up with his shoulder I think Grey would be an alright choice to replace him. I know it was only one game, but he did a top notch job on Wingard the other week and depending on the result would be a handy match up for one of Betts, Cameron, Bruest, Rioli or Puopolo.

All types of players that we've struggled to lock down in the past.

Well we should have some reasonable upgrades to players who played today out of:
McPharlin
Griffin
Silvagni

and possibly Crozier and Crowley who will become available.

Griffin is easy, clear upgrade on Clarke and would allow Sandi to go forward more.
McPharlin/Silvagni both upgrades on Dawson.

Crowley would have been good today against Kennedy but I don't think he has a natural matchup against Hawthorn, because he has failed recently on Mitchell. You need to take away their run and Mzungu on Smith is important for that.

My biggest concern is Fyfe and McPharlin getting up - we need both in the PF and (if we win) the GF to have a chance.

Clarke competed today. From what I saw Clarke was not beaten in a marking contest, and he got to many contests with his lumbering stride.

I think he played a decent game considering the conditions. He seemed to go in harder than usual. I still think he has an upside. I just want him to smash packs rather than wait for the ball. Stop going for mark of the year and lead strong. The guy can be a simpleton it seems. Still I guess Nic Nat is AA so anything is possible averaging 1 mark a game (as a tall).

Get Mzungu out of the team! People can't be serious by suggesting Weller will actually come in, no chance, Duffield will get a game before him, in fact Duffield should be getting a game before Mzungu, how many chances does Ross wanna give him?

Dawson lays a lot of blocks, I think he stays due to team structure. Silvagni would of given away 5 holds today.

Crowley back? Seriously folks, there's left field and then there's a paddock about 4 Km's to the left.

Dawson is a much better player when he has Luke alongside him, same with MJ who I thoi was deplorable yesterday.

Agree

Dawson is a very good second defender. Having him in as a second with McPharlin as the first allows Johnson and Ibbotson to focus on intercept marking and creative running etc.

My only hope is that when McPharlin goes that Pearce will have had another preseason to allow him to build the body to step
Into the number 1 role so that we can keep Dawson as the number 2

Do we think Sutcliffe will miss? Seemed to hurt his shoulder again.

I'd like to see

In: Taberner, Griffin, McPharlin (if McPharlin misses then Alex Pearce), Grey and Langdon
Out: Suban, Clarke, C Pearce, Sutcliffe and Mzungu

Yep think it would be very risky to pick Sutcliffe again, could go out of a game very early, would not pick due to injury alone.

No more Mz, sorry buddy.
Suban was awful once again, how much longer do we have to carry him?
McPharlin hopefully in if he is good to go.
Tabs needs to come in and I am probably one of his biggest critics, but structurally he is necessary.
