For the sake of the AFC this coming season is better. Let's give Nickys a few weeks grace and hope he does well.
Im not sure he has got any grace left, thats what the last 5 years was for.

We have Saints, Dons and North in our first three games.

We really should be 3-0 if we want to play Finals in 2025 before playing the Suns (A), Cats (H), Giants (H), Freo (A), Blues (H) then the Showdown.

Noting we lost last year to Suns, Cats, Giants and Freo.

I definitely expect the Suns and Freo both away games to improve as well.

I just hope behind the scenes the Club is actively looking/exploring for ex-coaches that may want to coach us and not wait till the season ends.

He’s had a couple of years grace!

Last year was the ‘return to finals’ year, just because that didn’t occur, given ‘reasons’, doesn’t reduce expectations for this year, which is winning a final. We definitely need to be 3-0 if we’re genuinely going to be looking like winning one, especially given it’s likely to be away.

We can’t lose, we do well and it’s Davis holding his hand, we don’t do well Nicks is gone
I'm sick of missing finals but I don't want Nicks given another extension... so hoping both come true.

Did he get 2 years or 3? If it’s 2 he’s not getting an extension until half way through 2026 at the earliest, they aren’t going to make that **** up again.

Real worry is we’ve got an inferior Ken on our hands who will end up being our longest serving coach.

End of 2026.

A well run ruthless Club would sack Nicks even if we make Finals, if there was a lack of improvement/progression in our younger players and a suitable candidate wanted to come to Adelaide.

We have a very decent draw in 2025 and TT,Fog, Rankine and Rachele really need to take their game to another level.

In a perfect world, we could get the best of both worlds, make Finals and get a new coach that can take us to a flag.

I don't think Nicks is tactically good enought to take us to a flag. But Richmond fans wanted Dimma replaced as late as 2016 and Melbourne were considering exiting Goodwin as late as the start of their premiership year.

If we could have landed a gun coach after last year, great. But we now have Nicks for 2025 (at least the start).

I for one will be barraking for Nicks for 2025. I'd much rather be wrong than be able to say "I told you so" with conviction at the end of the year.

Unless Horse becomes available, obviously . . .

Also huge criticism of Fagan in 2024 for being bad tactically ....same criticisms were levelled at Leigh Matthews

Oh & Horse has zero tactics

So even more reason to barrack for Nicks this year . . .
Oh, there's no doubt ..with this list now, fit & healthy ....Finals are a non-negotible

The list has satisfactorily matured ....games have been pumped into the kids ....Rachelle, Nank, Maxy ect, are all around the 50 game mark ...you can't claim inexperience now

Yeah, why would we be interested in proven premiership coaches.

Just contine to back in the guy who has never made finals & worst coaching record in club's history.

I think the point was, 4 about to be premiership coaches copped the same criticisms as Nicks is copping currently.

As I am sure did a heap of coaches who were about to lead their teams to nothing.

PIcking the right coach is complex. Probably more complex than any one of us part timers has the info or experience to correctly call.

How many premiership coaches missed the finals for their 1st 5 years...
