Review R13: The Good, Bad and Ugly vs. Richmond Tigers

Possibly the dumbest thing I've ever seen on a football field - Murphy making a ridiculously poor attempt to take mark of the year on the wing when the opposition has a four goal run on. Very lucky Richmond botched the resultant shot on goal. I don't think I've ever seen a player with less match awareness than that moment.

Has to be delisted just for that. I'd rather keep Ned on the list for another 5 years than give Murphy one more match.

What about Murphy dropping the uncontested mark 35 metres out deep in the pocket with 5 minutes to go?

Arched his back too much thinking he was going to get crunched and eyes went too far under the ball.

Shouldn’t play again at afl level.

The silly thing with selection is that whilst Rob is utterly useless around the ground; can’t kick, can’t mark and has no idea what a soft handball in front of a moving player is; he often gets his hands on the footy first at ruck contests which helps the midfielders premeditate where to move to and against a similar shaped body like nank he would have held his own.

Watching Dowling play knowing we’ve been picking Murphy Ned keys infront of him is amazing. The kid already offered more in his first game than any of those 3. Chuck Jones in that category also
Yep, he clearly has it. Shits on Ned and Murphy.

Now to give him some midfield time you ****heads

I understand it’s Facebook, but if I hear people complain that Crows only lost because of injuries excuse are f*cking deluded. Have they not seen Richmond’s?
Facebook comments are where you go when you want your masochist fix but can't be bothered getting dressed up. There are still people there insisting Nicks isn't the problem.

I can.

It was a mistake for Rash to pass it off. I don’t care if Billy has 1 game or 100 it’s Rash’s job to take that shot

And he only passes it off because we’ve killed him; knocked all confidence from him
Compare this to Rash being desperate to take the kick after the siren against Port a couple years ago.

Not sure if anyone saw the pre match on Fox - King and Dunstall were doing analysis on Laird and showing how shit he's been. He's something like #27 in the comp for clearances but 300th in the comp for disposal efficiency. They threw in "he's a hard worker but he's so ineffective" at the end. Nicks comes on and says "I heard the tail end of the last segment where you mentioned Laird is a hard worker. That's 100% right, nobody works harder".

Nothing else needs to be said.
Maybe someone could send nicks the videos of laird not working hard, or maybe they could review the games themselves?

All he has to do is watch about 2 minutes before he started talking. They've already done the work for him.

He'll see all the vision anyone would ever need to see.

I thought it was the right kick from Rachelle. Dowling should have kicked it

Look, this is true but a full of confidence Rachelle goes back and slots it. The fact he didn't take the kick himself shows what our coaches have managed to do to him over the last couple of seasons

Players I’m not disappointed with last night:
Nank, Max, Fog (mostly), Rachele, Sholl, Dowling, Hamill

Future is kinda bright?
There's 23 in a team now, need another 16 to stand up. Gone pear shaped very quickly, Tex outstanding 2023, playing Norf and WC four times last year flattered where we really were.

Are we still going to be saying our next two R1 picks are up for grabs if we can get the right players in to "finish" the rebuild. So much nonsensical comes out of the mouths of our administration and footy bosses.

Even possible come homers are saying no to us.

Five years of absolute nothing from Nicks. Getting an extension is beyond me.

The line used by some at the time of the extension was Nicks deserved to take the team as far as he could. It was such a weak statement, the guy gets paid to do his job and had zero expectations for years. Doing what he did is the easiest role in coaching. There is a reason why everyone is falling over themselves to get the Tassie job.

And he’s going to work harderer and longerer than everer

I know we make this as a joke extension on what he says (and it really isn't that much of an extension) but it really frustrates me about us as a club.

There is nothing wrong with having a plan and it not working but it is the next steps evaluating why it isn't working and what you need to do to change it to make it work that counts. It appears from the outside that nobody in the club challenges Nicks or attempts to guide him to make the plan work, which worries me.

No matter what business you are leading, if your results aren't up to scratch and when asked what you need to do to change it, you said "we just need to keep doing this plan we've had that we are failing at, better" you'd be on a short leash at best because all other organisations would recognise that something needs to change, your plan or you.
