Kids looked good. Dawson in the air was excellent. Rankine's game was great up till late and only some wayward goalkicking stopped a BOG maybe.

Keane responded well and was very solid. Max was very good and Toby still snagged 3 goals on him....what a player.

Hinge was a collossus back there, like a brick wall most of the game.
I was honestly surprised the Giant persisted with Bedford on Dawson. 179cm guy on a 190cm guy, perfect matchup to exploit in the air.

Dowling was a big contributor that final term, especially with that goal. His composure in tight spaces and ability just to shift left/right in a pack really does help him get out of some jams
Killed the ball twice defensively late in the game as well.

Has Murphy ever kicked a goal?…….ever ?
Is that the only reason we write someone off? Himmelberg didn't kick one either. I went to the game, and sometimes you can't see everything properly like you do on the TV. No doubt I missed some of his crappy moments.

Elite:
Rankine 1st half
Dawson 2nd half

Good:
Berry, back to his hard in and under role. Liked it.
Keane back to some form
Hinge
Keays best game of the year
Rachele much more involved. Just needs a touch of polish in front of goal
Fog

Important:
Tex
Murray
Both make a huge difference to our structure

Liked:
Taylor is the anti-Ned. All class. Just play him FFS

Frustrating:
Cook is absolutely elite when he gets the ball. Shame it’s only a few times each game.

Seat warming:
Himmelberg out and Thilthorpe in will be the easiest move this year

Murphy puts himself where the ball ain't. He has zero forward craft.

Cook got 4 touches moved to the wing in the 3rd, finally looking a bit more involved and we then subbed him off and put Murphy in his place there.

Bang on summary, nothing to add.

Nicks: "Yeah Murphy really stood up tonight when it counted. To hold up the game when we had momentum to relay a simple message from the bench was elite. He could have succumbed to the pressure to move the ball forward and actually attempt to score but he didn't. I'm really proud of him there"

You have two absolute stars in Rankine and Dawson. Potentially elite players in Soligo and Rachele plus quite a few others with real potential.

If Matt can get past his battler/trier obsession and actually look to implement a style that suits the side then there is the capacity for a real improvement.

Still comfortably in the running for a top five draft pick if that is what is desired too :p

9 kicks
8 turnovers

0.1 and 1 goal assist for 84% in forward half.

He's kicked 4 goals for the year, yes 4 for the whole year.

No one is writing him off just for this game, the 'writing off' has well and truly happened, he wouldn't be getting a game if we had a competent coach.

Nice to get the win. Rankine was superb. I thought Keane responded well.

Overall it felt a bit like the West Coast game earlier in the season. We got away with a fair bit that we wouldn't against a hungrier opposition. The Giants are really off at the moment. They will miss the 8

I was at the game and besides some pressure applied at moments he was a waste on the field. Certainly wasting a spot for developing players for sure. Eg Taylor
