I didn't get that vibe. He gave himself the out in regards to more midfield time in the SANFL.

I get the feeling he might play if one of the younger mids are injured.

Nope he specifically talked about the age of midfield last week and that we would be considerably younger this week. I take that to mean Curtin will play and Smith wont.

Every team has one. Go to every board and read the same gripes week in week out. There are role players that we will just never understand… and thats why we are behind keyboards and not coaching at afl level.

I get worried when he says "he is in the mix" which normally means he ain't playing.

"He's in the mix. He's doing some real good work in the SANFL. He's really banging down the door. But Murphy is playing excellent footy in the 1's and it's hard to displace that."

How the hell is chase Jones ahead of curtin to play? Has done nothing in the sanfl and we know what he brings and it’s average at best !

Smith is useless as a defender against fast small/medium forwards. Jones is needed because he has genuine pace and can make life difficult for his opponent. Cannot understand why people are worrying about Jones when Smith is still playing. Plus Jones has always been good playing behind the ball, it’s what resurrected his career and underpinned his good performances on a wing pre-injury.

He means because Dawson is out. Smith doesn't impact the midfield age.

If he’s specifically talking about the midfield then Smith is totally irrelevant to the mathematics.

Not sure, him not coming in this week would be very confusing after polling the most coaches votes for two weeks straight in the SANFL and being an emergency last week.
