Curtin in the middle

Aroused South Park GIF

If we were a well run Club, we should be making sure that every player is cherry ripe for a strong preseason.

That includes doing any surgeries/treatment/rehab now in preparation for this.
The only advantages of missing the eight are better draft picks, longer pre-season and the ability to book anyone who needs surgery earlier so they're right for next year.
Send them all off now not later, and take out their appendix for good measure if you have to.

Absolutely disgusting..... and waste of dam time.

We should play Curtin, Ryan or Edwards on him so they can learn from that matchup on one of the best in the AFL.
Curtin is a decent suggestion... at least for a quarter to see how he goes.

Hinge is another option... or even Worrell on his return.

Actually, it will only take the Dogs to win on Friday night to unofficially end the Crows season in 2024, regardless if we win on Saturday.

Similarly too if the Hawks win.

Mathematically we cannot make the 8 if either of those teams win this round.

Or any round i’m guessing?

Dowling in a white guernsey. Is that purely for the non contact part?
We wouldn’t would we?
I'd actually like us to plan the introduction of our young guys.

It's rare for 1st or 2nd year players to suddenly be able to cope with week-in, week-out matches. Younger bodies need freshen ups. Strategic rests. Build up over time towards playing 23 games.

Because we worship the God of Continuity though, if a younger player does get selected they are expected to play every week. Typically the kids we do pick hit the wall at some stage.

It's the same logic that saw us grind Talia, Walker and Sloane into the ground previously. Just towards the other end of the age spectrum.

Take Curtin.

A couple of 4-5 game stints this year would have been fine. Yes, even including a sub appearance or two.

Build in Season 2 to play the start of the season, have a break in the middle, then play the back end.

Year 3 they're ready to play every week.

It requires over-arching player management rather than reacting to form or the premiership table.

You can't do it for every player and there are obviously plenty of variables during a season but you should be plotting the path for the blue chips on your list.

To be fair, there's not a single coach in the AFL who wouldn't drop Curtin to make way for Dawson.

I get the point you're making - and it's valid for Smith/Ryan and Murphy, and there are other players who should be dropped (instead of Curtin) to make way for Dawson. But taken as an individual selection, Dawson for Curtin is an absolute no-brainer.
Dawson in is a no brainer

From then there is no such thing as isolating who is out is to only considering 1 player

I will keep naming him as an out in the hope our dumbarse coaches finally get it
They wont. So really we should just all check out until there is a major cleanout of the football department. We have 0 control and they dont care about what we think, although they pretend to want to know with mid season surveys. A club run by a bunch of ****ing frauds. IMO we honestly need to start again from ground ZERO, we have completely torched this rebuild from drafting, to the non development of key pillars of our next contending team. Club can seriously GAGF.

We could always try not kicking the ball directly to Stewart everytime
Nah, we'll just do the same thing as last time we played them. Just like we did last week against the Hawks. Our coaches never learn anything from previous matches only the players.

We just got unlucky the previous time or 5 when we played them.
