If the players are ignoring the coach week after week something is seriously broken.

Either with the coach/player relationship or the recruitment team who give the coach below average players to coach and make his job impossible to succeed in.

Accountability. That is all that I ask. Accountability among the playing group on and off the field. Accountability to the coaching staff for making smart decisions throughout the day. We lost today because we're not accountable. Neither the 22 on the field or the coaching staff.

We traded our first-round draft pick. That trade demonstrates that the club itself placed expectations on itself. Therefore, somebody or somebodies absolutely must be held accountable.

Accountability is vital for any organisation to function without discord. People in a team need to see justice being done or they get despondent.

You’re totally right that the Stocker trade shows the club’s view that we should be performing better than this.

The match committee members need to be looked at as a start. It would be easy and non-controversial to make some changes there. Next week’s selections could then give everyone more hope. That could at least halt the demoralizing trend.

I will always love the blues, and next week I'll watch the game and root for the boys but stuff me, I feel like everything goes against us. Umpires giving us the short end of the stick, can't ice a game, paddy Dow has no composure and needs to be dropped.
All this against debatably the worst AFL list ever assembled. Hell even the commentators were rooting for gold coast. Listening to roos and Hudson was tough.

I agree. Nobody is suggesting they are? But you don't sack a coach 4 games in. That is reactive and silly. You plan for the contingency that you may need to do so. But you don't pull the trigger yet.

This is not just about four games. We dont have a game plan and system to win games of football. We may scrape through the occassional aberrational game but this is where we sit. We have some of the best young talent in the country and its going to waste.

As they say its not the players its the system.. We have one but not the other.

Effort was definitely there, they gave it a real crack ... BUT THE SKILLS

Cripps. Could not have done any more. Best player in the game (along with Dangerfield). 30 disposals (19 contested), 12 tackles, 8 clearances, 2 goals

Walsh, Jones, Weiters, Fisher, SPS, Newman, Murph, Thomas, McGovern provided good support for Cripps (he is such a level above, not even funny)

If McGovern played a full game, we win the game

C Curnow was not fit - WHY DID HE PLAY

Dow has taken a step backwards ... Dropped next week (Kennedy)

Gibbons not a forward > given it an honest go now, should be dropped > but we do have fcuk all depth in that position

Another game like that from Plowman ... Are we ever going to see the best of him? Starting to think his ceiling is lower than we'd like

As bad as the loss is, it's just a game and we all have lives outside of watching football. But I have to admit the club needs to have a hard look at themselves they try and try but don't get the results. I'm looking forward to having a good Sunday night and wake up tomorrow still a Bluebagger.

Well then we simply have recruited players with low football IQ which comes back to the recruitment. Which means the coach is probably as frustrated as the fans right now.

The only selection differential I would have made is Levi for Kennedy …. however he did not come up for the game. (1 too many talls)

Other than that it was a few mistakes made by the stoppage coach that cost us.

We gave first use too many times to the Suns in the general play stoppages and the centre ones.

Other than that (result aside) see major uplift. Nearly dug out a win. Gritty admirable loss. Had it on a plate but couldn't finish.

You have to laugh - the difference between Dow being a super star or a hated player (as he is apparently by some posters today) - is just a bit of composure. Getting closer to a win each week - this week it was 10 seconds away - just because a mark to Jones wasn't paid. Still - some composure as displayed by Walsh from Fisher/Dow/Setterfield/LoB - would have made it a comfortable win instead of a diabolical loss.

So many easy opportunities to win this one in a canter and so many of same just blown by inability to execute basic skills.

27th draft pick in the 2016 draft. So inside the top 30 criteria the poster stated.

Unfortunately if you go through our list and look at our A and B graders, he is correct. Newman is an arguable one and if Williamson comes good the poster is wrong. But as of today he is correct.

you can't play that many talls in the same team. everyone on this thread knew that and everyone in the football universe knew that. Premiership coaches have thrown midfielders in the ruck to give the main ruck a rest before playing with 2 immobile rucks.

bolton plays all those talls because he simply has no idea how to move the ball up the field other than by kicking down the line to a big guy. and somehow with 4 tall marking players plus cripps to kick down the line to, the system still repeatedly collapsed to the point there they all got caught up the ground and there was no forward close to goal and they were bombing it on gibbons head.
