Pretty hard when we have no talls inside 50 v the best three tall defenders in the AFL.

They should consider not just bombing it in every time like they are at the moment. The footskills going forward have been appalling (not helped by Richmonds first class pressure).

Unfortunately fiscally they're one of the most stable ships. There is no justice

Send ASIC in for ten minutes, I'm sure its all smoke and mirrors.

Butler could be riding trackwork, but he is the swooper for the average sized talls. Sometimes clubs have to look beyond a formula and take a risk.
Listening to daisy Thomas saying Richmond players use glue so that they can pick the ball up in the wet. Just watching the difference in ground ball for the last few years between Richmond and rest makes sense. He said whenever we touched the ball after Richmond players had it would stick to our hands like glue. Some superior gripping they’re using.

FYI I also agree with the sentiments that Carlton should be stripped/taken off the season opening game.

It's not much fun watching us get belted in prime time every year. And it would be nice playing a minnow/cellar dweller like The Suns, Freo or St Kilda, so we might kick of the season with a win for a change.
Agree. Sick of seeing you guys win trade and draft period year after year then disappoint when it comes to playing footy.

Carlton have a big future.
High draft picks Dow, LOB, Kennedy, Setterfield, SPS, Stocker, Cuningham.

Give these guys a few years and they will have the best midfield in the league.
Add in their number 1 picks. Off the top of my head I think that is:
Kreuzer
Murphy
Walsh
Weitering
Cripps
and now Jack Martin as #1 in the mini-draft.

and they are still a rabble!

Wonder how long it will take him to decide he's had enough and wants to go to another team that's a chance at winning a premiership. unfortunately he would join the list of brilliant players that deserved a flag when he retires.
How incredibly sad to be born so talented, a once in a generation player as many are saying, only to lose the football lottery of life and be drafted by Carlton.

Why should we (Carlton FC and it's fans) give a flying toss what the general football public thinks .

We don't plan the fixture, take it up with Channel 7 and The AFL
To be fair... with all the handouts, free hits, draft concessions and a team chock full of first round draft picks (many of them top 10 picks) that Carlton have scored over the past decade or so... its not suprising that the AFL and 7 have been thinking for the past few years that “surely it has to be this year that the blues finally become competitive and put on a great show in the season opener”.

but i guess its just too much to ask for..

If you watched the last quarter you would of noticed they weren’t. We got JSOS Martin Mcgovern Dow Murphy inside 50. All points.

Would have been 90k+ it was pretty much sold out before the crowd was cancelled.

It's an entertainment business...if huge crowds want the fixture, the AFL will do their best to deliver.

Would you prefer 10k on the gold coast?

On SM-J530Y using BigFooty.com mobile app

I would simply prefer the AFL put two top sides against each other and they will still get 70k plus. When you lock in fixtures you get top v bottom teams regularly. Very simple thing to do, the two highest placed Vic sides from previous season is a no brainer.

Carlton hired Bolton because they knew they could control him and not give him any power. He was always looking over his shoulder and having to defer to others.

It is the same with Teague.
