Honestly if Dusty is not fit then don’t play him. By this I mean both physically and mentally. Struggling mentally can have almost as much of an impact as struggling physically.

The longer he is out there, the worse it seems to be getting. In the 4 games we played this year (including JLT), he’s maybe had 4 good quarters? Far from his usual standards.

I’d rather him not playing than see him kicking to the opposition and not tackling a player for an entire game.

Dusty on one leg can work, but Dusty zoned out of the game does not.

We were stuffed as soon as Jack did his wrist, completely threw our forward structure out. I'm not buying this Collingwood on a better level than us, they had a plan yes but for a good amount of the game after Jack was injured they were only 12 to 18 points ahead. Selection wise we stuffed up, should have had Balta in.

mate we were stuffed way before that. the coaches stuborness and lack of willingness to change the defensive structures stuffed us from the start big time..

Funny how Lady luck can change a clubs fortunes so quickly. Rance and Jack out, Dusty just a shadow of what he was and suddenly we look like a very average side.

I see us getting a few beltings in the coming weeks as better midfields tear us apart. It seems our best players get too easily tagged out of games yet we don't seem to be able to return the favour when it matters

Hardwick and Co. need to do some soul.searching as do the players. I know it's only round 2 but there were some ominous signs out there tonight that this season could end up being quite ugly.

I got reamed on the game lead up thread about saying we needed a second ruck and the comment was made that Hardwick knows what he is doing.
Guess what!
Hardwick doesn't learn from his mistakes, he is stubborn and not willing to concede he is wrong.
I'm loosing faith in him as a coach, the writing was on the wall in the later stage of last season
I feel that we are declining fast and need to change our game style as teams have figured us out.
We will struggle to make finals this year if we continue down this path.

I just got back from the game and here is my take,

We made Collingwood look like Millionaires by playing stupid unaccountable football.
The umpires are corrupt and I'm convinced that there is a directive by the AFL to rheum us every week.
Collingwood are shite
Ellis can't play ever again (shit's himself every time he gets the ball)
Markov not up to it
Prestia needs to give some money back to the club because he isn't worth it, he is a one trick pony.
NOT PLAYING ANOTHER RUCK ID FU&^ING MADNESS HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO SAY THIS?
I'm happy with Lynch and his efforts, it's not his fault our midfield is shit and don't deliver the ball lace out.
We need to rebuild our midfield they are f8&ing terrible.
We need to isolate Lynch in the 50 hold him back and don't play him too far up the ground (he is a good lead and good mark)
Weller to the VFL he is taking a valuable spot.
Martin needs a good kick up the arse he refuses to do the team things (I'm getting sick of his attitude)
Asbury can't be the main man down back he couldn't get close to Cox gave him too much space. I still worry about Astbury and his ability.
Castagna and Butler don't do enough to warrant selection
WTF is up with Rioli Jesus christ the kid has so much talent but can't get the ball

The season will be over in the next few weeks then it's time to play some kids.

Play Ross we need a hard mid who isn't afraid to tackle.
Play Moore
Play Balta (should have never been dropped)

I hope my gut feeling is wrong and the boys rebound back but somehow I don't think it will happen.

Said the same thing pre game .. dropping Balta and having no back up ruckman was just plain suicide and proves Hardwick learnt nothing from the Prelim.

Grundy was always going to kill us at the centre bounce, we had no one to help Grimes out all night Astbury was ****ing useless … must of had Prelim flash backs.

Our midfield apart from Cotchin is ****ing lazy.

Not unexpected. The blow out was a bit disappointing. We still look very very rusty and the giants next week will give us a big belting if we dont come to play.

To be perfectly honest we were never going to win this one. He may have been shit at Carlton but Malthouse was right in saying that you dont want to have more than 1 or 2 players in the side that have hardly played AFL. We have about 3 or 4. We are also missing a few of our good premiership players in Caddy, Houli, Grigg and Rance. Hopefully they regroup and make some good decisions in the next few rounds. We may end up 2 - 4 after 6 rounds the way it is going. Guess we are gearing up for

Not sure where to start. Honestly was pretty chilled going in as all the pressure was on Collingwood. Still is now for the rest of the year. Long way to go. We went 1-1 after two rounds last year and still finished top. Mind you, probably not playing as bad as we have first two games this year.

They kept the ball off us and killed us with skill, centre clearances and speed. Have not seen us look that slow in a long time. Are we simply not at full fitness? Maybe.

Alot of areas that need rapid improvement. Like most on here i believe Balta would nkt habe made any difference tonight. Their forward entry was simply too good while we continue to bomb it in to 3 on ones.

Lynch is only going to get better and with Jack out he will need to stand up and be counted.

The umpiring was laughable, but nothing evee changes nor would it have changed the Outcome.

Changes:

Please pack your bags and **** off. Markov, Ellis and Weller

Ins: Balta, Houli, Bolton, Baker or Ross possibly Cal Moore if Jack injured.

Many of our stars struggling, but massive props to K Mac, Shedda, Grimes and **** Broad.

Nathan Broad has leadership qualities written all over him. Want to be rolling in September but need a dramatic change in intesnsity on order to get there.

Not sure how you can thing we’re even close to collingwood level after that game. It was the worst drubbing we’ve had since that St Kilda 17 game

The St Kilda drubbing and Pies loss last year were completely different, we lost both in the 1st qrt. We were in with a chance until they kicked past 22 points in the last quarter this game.

For the record i thought we were going to lose before the game anyway, i didn't think we were going to adjust without Rance 2nd game in without him. Like Edwards said in the hakftime talk, the keeping off football wasn't hurting us it was when they went down the corridor with speed. Most of which resulted by turnover because we lacked a second option (reiwoldt/balta) to kick to a contest.
