Balta has gone backwards, very disappointing this year though it didn't help that we tried to play in the forward line.

I think it goes back to this, he was tried on the forward line, had to adjust his playstyle, then when it didn't work sent to the backline and expected to take up where he left off, they're people not machines, takes a little time to adjust at this level.

People can get down about yesterday and that's fine but I'm still very optimistic about our future.

We were able to finally blood some young players and give them some finals experience which is invaluable and we showed this season that we can survive without Dusty if he does go.

Taranto and potentially Rutten will be huge in's and I think the most important part of any team environment, the culture, is still evident in our team.

It was really Richmond killing Richmond yesterday and for the rest of the season against North, St Kilda, Sydney and Gold Coast and I think we'll be better off for it.

Insane how much our mindset has changed and how easily we crumble after being so consistently strong. I guess the older players still have the tools, but the younger ones don't. You really need all 22 to be locked in. A few players out of place or making mistakes and the whole gameplan crumbles.

Our list is actually in really good shape, just a couple of minor things to work on. Centre clearances are one, but bringing in one or both of Taranto and Hopper would help that, as would a fit Dusty back in the middle.

Our defence needs to settle, and bringing in a new defensive coach (Rutten?) will fix that, the defenders we have are perfectly fine (and then some).

Last thing to address is life post-Riewoldt. He might have another year in him, but we need to either draft a key forward in this draft, target one for a future trade/FA, or hope Bauer/Miller can develop into decent key forwards, or even Biggie (played forward a bit towards the end of VFL season).

Sometimes you will lose of course, but how often have we coughed embarrassing goals in the final two minutes? Daniher-gate was no different to Zurhaar-gate from earlier in the season

It’s like the entire side enters a collective panic attack. Extraordinary when you consider how well we defended our lead in the 20 PF. Something is really amiss and needs to be fixed before next season

It still baffles me that everyone in Australia besides our coaching box knew that stopping Neale would win us the game

Barely any attention
Short tried for what felt like 5 minutes
Pickett was too late


I don’t understand our coaches at all
Literally we all knew that stopping Neale was the key and we let him have a game like that

It’s actually inexcusable
Is it arrogance or stupidity? Midfield needs a big shape up if we’re gonna get back to winning finals comfortably again! Felt like we were beaten on the ground all night and slower then the Lions. Plenty we need to fix for next year

I think this may be due to the retirements of astbury and houli. Our younger defenders will take time to learn how to shut down a game.
