Round 1 Trades

Did pretty well this week, but defence was poor. Only one ton their and same boat with Broughton. For once I don't wanna waste trades early so Broughton survives another week (although against Sydney I dunno how well he will score).

If it helps, he scored 114 at the SCG last year.

I think Lake is on the way out. I think I can wangle a premo + rookie that will get me more points overall. I'll think about it carefully, but I need to increase the scoring potential of the team. It will be an extremely long season if I have to put up with crap scores. Better out now than cop a price drop.

You can un-do trades this year can't you?

Yeah you can.

I'll only use it when I know I'm away from a computer when teams are finalised on Friday. Even so, I am loathe to touch anything on my team until Thursday night at the very earliest.

Edit - doesn't apply to non-standard rounds and I believe Round 2 has another partial lockout.

Thinking of trading Mumford and David Hale (in my team as a forward) for Paddy Ryder and Josh Kennedy.

I originally had Ryder but changed to Mumford thinking he'd dominate against GWS but he just looked slow and out of sorts while Ryder had a field day against North.

I had a good feeling about Hale but not anymore. I like Kennedy, don't know why. He had a great game against the dogs and WCE seem to have a few easy matches ahead of them.

Should I give Mummy and Hale another chance and save my trades? Am I jumping the gun a bit?

This is my first go a dream team. Got 2185 in round 1 pretty happy. I had quite a few unique players who may not be as consistent as I'd like.

Any advice would be appreciated.

for the first time ever i might actually trade round 1. Dunno how i traded out Kennedy for Shiel, but didnt swing Kennedy into the forward line in place of Dickson.

I watched the Bulldogs/Eagles game and Lake looked like a fat **** on a warm day. Think someone like Marty Clarke will score just as well, and the extra cash will aid in my first upgrade. Will wait for Thursday and Friday night teams.

I know it breaks one of the golden rules, but I also might have to trade this week.

Stupidly picked Leuey as my only premium ruck, not realising Crazy Vossy was intending to let him rot away in the forward line while Spudson took his ruck spot.
If he's named in the forward line again, he's toast.

Two trades blown already but I'm going to trade aggressively this year if a player is underperforming (yes i know its just round one..). Lake is a goner because I dont want to sit by each week knowing that my overall score could be lowered considerably from his score alone. I feel a lot more secure in Golby for an average of say 75-80. Also didn't want to miss out on Kennedy (yes I know again, round one one score) but he has a lot better JS than Smedts anyways..

I might be forced to make a trade due to injury.....thanks Christian Howard. But will probably just hold him for a week and see where the possible replacements are after a few games

Shouldn't have Hale anyway but trading Mummy out is stupid.

Thinking about trading Swan for Pendlebury so I can upgrade broughton to birchall, thoughts on this trade? Might wait another week to be sure but don't like the role broughton was given sat night

Will probably trade out Cunningham for C Smith - Had it the other way around all PS, then with rumours of him being the sub I switched to Cunningham just before lockout for the GWS game thinking that at least if Cunningham was the sub i'd saved 20k.. Now i'll wast a trade getting him back cause thats how i roll...

My question is this: Has his JS improved with that game or with Griffin to come back is he still risky as a sub? I would wait to trade until next round, but I may need him if Magner doesn't get up to play. Will also have JMAC warming the bench with suspension so hoping Shiel will find more of it this week.

Let me get this straight, you're thinking about burning 2 trades after Rd1 and 2 sideways trades to boot, because you didn't even leave yourself 20k in the bank just in case? FYDTL

Also probably trade out Howard for Golby.. 2-4 weeks... Which means at least 4 to a price change and with his 40 would have to score quite well to be worth holding onto...

Remaining Cap: $8,500

DEF: A Carrazzo, T Bugg, B Deledio, D Heppell, M Clarke, H Shaw, B Lake, B Ellis, S Darley

MID: G Ablett, S Thompson, M Boyd, D Swan, S Coniglio, D Shiel, J Magner, C Smith

RUCK: S Mumford, J Giles, J Redden, O Stephenson

FWD: L Franklin, A Kennedy, T Cloke, S Sidebottom, A Goodes, D Martin, D Smith, A Hall, T Dickson

Doing Goodes > Fyfe (Goodes v GWS  ), crazy to pick him over Fyfe in my initial team, Goodes' fantasy days might be over.

Thoughts on my overall team and I know it's crazy to trade in round 1.

had a great first round with 2292 points but Im doing a crazy thing and trading out broughton and replacing him with birchall.
Will cop plenty of flak for it but its happening. Dont want any potential lock down candidates like broughton in my team.
