MID: G Ablett, S Thompson, M Boyd, D Swan, S Coniglio, D Shiel, J Magner, C Smith

RUCK: S Mumford, J Giles, J Redden, O Stephenson

FWD: L Franklin, A Kennedy, T Cloke, S Sidebottom, A Goodes, D Martin, D Smith, A Hall, T Dickson

Doing Goodes > Fyfe (Goodes v GWS  ), crazy to pick him over Fyfe in my initial team, Goodes' fantasy days might be over.

Thoughts on my overall team and I know it's crazy to trade in round 1.

Will be hilarious when Goodes pumps out a 124 this week and Fyfe an 84. If this happens are you going to trade them around again for Rd3?

Seriously, massive over reaction. He scored 84DT (21 possies, 6 marks) without even trying. I remember a few Geelong guns scoring shit in an early game against GC last year as well.

I'd be more concerned about Lake spudding up your backline this week, more than anything..

Based on 2011 form, pre-season form, D/P status and just being a f***ing awesome player Fyfe should've been a near lock for many.

Still, that trade is hilariously over-reactionary. Goodes is extremely durable, D/P and will never get the green vest. You can count on him for solid scores most weeks, and monster games on occasion. Why waste a trade on him?

You are only trading up a few points, if Goodes scores 20 more next round and Fyfe scores 20 less all up you burn a trade for 0 points gained. You will get more points getting rid of Lake, if you were willing to let him ride one more week, then surely its a better option to let Goodes ride for another week too?

Even if you trade out Lake for Hombsch or Mohr, it would make more sense. Get a better cash cow in, but also removed Lake's uncertainties. It helps to fix the rookie situation, frees up cash and only uses 1 trade.

PS I am loving the undo-trade function. Can mess around with various situations.
I'm planning to bring in the 2 best cash cow prospects after next round then hold things for a couple of rounds.

When will your dream team become your own? :thumbsu:

Probably giving Barlow one more week before he becomes Ebert. Stevie J could be on thin ice too.

Are you serious? Barlow came on late in the 3rd 1/4. He scored 52DT in only 33 minutes TOG! I wouldn't trade him even if he started as sub for another week if I already had him.

33%

not 33 minutes.

But your point stands scored very well in limited time, should play a full game next week or start on the field and get subbed off at 3 qtr would be paying the shortest odds.

There's only one rookie I missed that's really Bugg-ing me :p

Mate, if you're like me and don't have Bugg, but do have Lake and Morris, then I think there's a viable trade right there.

Won't trade this week, but Lake --> Bugg (+$150K) and then hopefully Morris --> Darley (+$??K) will sort some early problems in the backline.

That's still only 40 minutes. Or 1.22 DT points per minute. That's as good as any premo mid scored this week from a TOG perspective. I really hope he is vested again this week. (154 B/E) Can't wait to bring him in after Rd3 will be a massive BARGAIN!

I was considering trading Lake out for Birchall this week, but Hawks are playing Geelong and I can't see him smashing a out a tonne this week. I'm now considering trading Lake out for Mohr and pocketing another 135k (which would leave me 807k in the bank LOL) Am I MAD?

My reasoning is I picked Lake as a potential keeper who I thought might get back to scoring close to premo scores again. If he fell a little short like a 75 average he still would have made enough cash to upgrade him to a premium. But since he's scoring less than a rookie, he's going to leak $$$ by the first price change. I really liked the way Mohr went about it in Rd1. He seems to have a lot of run in his game for a FB type and obviously has pretty good JS. And at this rate will be worth more than Lake by Rd 6.

Mate I don't think its a good idea to have that much cash in the bank, I did it last year and it came back to bite me, from the word go you are going to be behind everyone else. I would do the lake-> birchall trade, even though he may not pump out another 116 this week, last year he was one of the most consistent players in the comp. by trading down to Mohr you will still be losing at least 20ppg.

Im not saying I don't like Mohr, because I see great potential in him, I just dont like the idea of having that much money in the bank. you obviously have plenty of rookies elsewhere if you still have 500K+ in the bank

i hate not owning A.Kennedy but that trade will have to wait until rd2 is over

i'm thinking Pfeiffer -> A.Kennedy

sideways, but it would mean i don't have to start Smedts in my fwdline

I should refrain from trading this week.
However next week will trade Lake to Bugg and Dickson to Kennedy
provided they come through unscathed. + Hope no more injuries to midfield - Magner, Mcdonald

Lake gets 1 more week to perform
On the other hand I would actually like kennedy or bugg to get injured this week, and i can pick them up later in the year. And Upgrade Lake to a Keeper.

I currently have 667k in the bank without the Lake>Mohr trade.

I have 4 prems in the backs, 4 in the mids, 1 in the ruck and 6 in the forwards. That's if you count Broughton, Malceski, Lake, Hargrave, Hayes, & N Reiwoldt as premiums.

I scored 2131 this week with this team with 667k in the bank, I would have scored 2179 if I had Mohr instead of Lake and left 807k in the bank.

I realise rookies aren't going to score well every week, but I only started 6 rookies in Rd 1 = Ellis, Bugg, McDonald, Magner, J Redden & Kennedy. No more than most teams I would have thought?

You got lucky with your rookies this week mate. Alot of dreamteamers have Bugg, Kennedy and Redden in there last spot and thus didnt get the 100's they scored. 4/6 players scored 100 this week. That wont happen every week because if it does than they will be the highest scoring player in there positions (Kennedy and Bugg) that is 00000000000.1% chance of happening.

Your also going to waste alot of trades when you could have had these players from the start. Barlow might be alright for you, but he will be in plenty of teams come round 5-6, sure you might trade him in round 3 and get his 60-80 sub effected scores but i dont see how thats going to help your team.

If you have Lake or Broughton you should be giving them the chop.

Can't make you money and will be a liability for months. Get Bugg if you can and if you already have him you can still get Hombsch, 8 marks on debut shows potential for good scores. Mohr also looks like he might see a bit of the footy and is mature aged.

All should generate sure cash even if they don't do as well in round 2.

Not sure I want to jump off Dickson yet but he's heading for the bench.

Save your money for injury / upgrade. Sometimes it's handy to have some money in the bank when you lose a big gun, it can be hard to cover the price gap to get the next best player especially if the injury happened early in a game resulting in a low DT score that week.

Same here - i made such a rookie error and thought Darley was named for some reason. I was choosing between him and Bugg.

I'll still hold off and wait one more round before biting the bullet

I did the exact same thing. Hopefully he gets named this week.

Also, I'm thinking about trading Saad in for Kennedy...

Lake I can understand, but Broughton is selected by all teams as a keeper. Whether he makes money or not is not a concern. If you bought him as a keeper then you should be backing him in for more than one game. The game on the weekend was most concerning though as he was playing a tagging role:thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

I'm not so sure as far as Broughton goes. He'd played a lock down role on SJ before from what I hear, it was obviously a smart coaching move to play on him again. I personally am giving Broughton (and Ross Lyon) another week to see what Broughton'S week to week role will be this year. He had 31 possies against Sydney last year and I don't see any obvious lock down match up for him against Sydney other than Goodes, but I would think there are better sized players to match up on Goodes this week, especially if he plays CHF.

I will have a 0 in my midfield in round 11 if I don't make any trades. So do I trade out Shiel or Boyd??
