You’re right. If people think running 24.2 metres without bouncing the ball is okay, then they’re just showing their ignorance of the rules,or their bias against us,or maybe both.
It was a real mixture

He only took 14 steps which is less than 15!!!

Umpires should let it go for the spectacle

He only took 9 steps!!!!

VicBias!!!!!!!!!

And now it’s - every other time is let go so the ump should just let it go, even if he sees the infrigement

Genuinely like sticking forks in my eyeballs

Crows fans now

Not many in the Ponsford seen it, but I noticed the ump spin his arms straight away. Bit weird to be up cheering with pies fans around me silent for so long

At least if you stick a fork in each eye you're only wrong twice

We are the best drilled side in the comp. We win because everyone is prepared to sacrifice their natural game to become role players. We play the riskiest game plan in the comp also and that requires everyone to do their bit. We went in undermanned and finished even more undermanned. If people appreciated how hard it is to maintain that with all the other variables that a game will throw up, then no player should be ridiculed or abused for mistakes. I understand that people will vent but today was a massive effort by every player on the ground. There was nothing to get abusive about today. Maybe it's time for some to develop an attitude of gratitude.
It's a game thread. People have to take their eyes off the game to post. You don't have time to think about the stuff you mention. I say again - the GT is for off the cuff comments. No one got abusive - critical yes. The last thing left on this site that is not general subject to woke analysis is the game thread. Leave it be.

No better example than the DeGoey goal. Crisp went on his usual risky run straight up the guts. But Nick who could have been forgiven for stopping and watching was running full pelt behind him and ready to take the handball when crisp slipped and fell. Bang, ball into DeGoeys chest where he nailed a not exactly easy set shot.

While players are encouraged to take risks the other 17 are drilled to be there to cover all contingencies regardless if the risk works or fails

Missed Mihocek, we win that easily with Checkers. Bloody glad the ump finally had the guts to call Rankin for running too far. Forget Collingwood being lucky, Rankin and the crows were lucky they got away with other 20-25m runs earlier in the match.

We didn't have Checkers and we won't have him or McInnes next week. Kreuger either comes into the side, or I am going to perform a self castration, package up my testicles and send them into the club, letting them know that I am sacrificing them because the club is in desperate need of a decent sized set.

I reckon that's why they called this one, as the umps themselves realised they'd missed plenty throughout the game...

Putting it in perspective, Nick Daicos had 22 contested possessions and 14 clearances today. While his efficiency was just under 60%, on 41 disposals, that is 24 disposals that hit their target.

Not sure any player this season has had 24 disposals hit their target.
Just on this - the way champion data codes their stats, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a clanger. Any kick shorter than 40 metres must result in uncontested possession to be effective.

So to put it in perspective - you can throw yourself into a contest and win the hard ball, throw a 39-metre kick forward to the advantage of your forward, who competes and brings the ball to ground - and that is still classed as an infective possession because it wasn’t >40 metres.

Nick certainly had some uncharacteristic clangers today but he certainly wasn’t as ineffectual (to my eye at least) as his overall KE stat would suggest - much to the disappointment of that campaigner Garry Lyon.

Or not paying HTB against Keane, or the free paid against Cox, maybe even the HTB against Nick. Oh well 🤷‍♂️ we won, leave the whining to the losers.

The Rankine free was fair even if it's often missed. Would only have resulted in a chance as they didn't mark the ball, looked to be heading for a ball up.
The hold on Hill, which wasn’t paid on the tick of half time takes the cake for me.

Ok performance, we throw a few up now and then and you take the 4 points and forget about this one.

Shultz was better, tries hard but still think we’ve given up a first pick for another McCreery type.
Today was again left to too few, didn’t see enough influence from the mid tier players again and the new boys in Finn, Sully and Richards were all meh to ok, you’d certainly want to see more moving forward.
Harrison was dynamic with his vision again when he came on, he’s class that kid.

Q still has the turning circle of a Mack truck, lose some bulk champ and get some agility back in your game.
Leggy is the luckiest guy alive if he keeps his spot, for mine he does nowhere near enough.
Pendles is simply the greatest Pie to ever play and should play another 2 years, Daicos X2 were awesome Nobes brilliant Cameron good and Frampton a rock again.
Considering how depleted we are it was a good effort but nothing outstanding.

You are not talking to the converted. I was the worst when it came to smashing our players on the thread. We have been blessed with Father sons recently, and we might have the best player of all time. We might also have the best coach of all time. I am not used to being in this position until Fly took over. We have been cursed before Fly came over but now, I just appreciate what's taking place out there. This is completely different to what both you and I are used to and I just appreciate it for what it is. If your looking for woke, then you have the wrong bloke.

This is the goal review footage of Schultz' (2nd?) goal. What is deemed the inside edge of the goal line: is it the back edge of the post or is it the back edge of the padding? I saw this live and thought it would be given "touched" but the goal review people showed the frame after, where the defender appears to touch the ball half a meter behind the goal line.

That is called "compression" i.e. when the distance between objects close to the camera's focal point is minimised. There could be up to a foot between the ball and the Crow player's hand.

Just got back from the game and watching the replay.

Before I see it on replay I just have a huge kudos to Darcy Cameron for being a solid wall on the wing/half-back.

Naicos to DeGoey will always be the best call (closely followed by Pendlebury to Daicos)
