Like I seriously need to be a little smart and start putting money on us to lose these games

Welcome to me in 2017. This club is as predictable as toast landing butter side down.

Another disappointing night to be a Port fan.

Writing was on the wall when we were playing such great sharp footy around the ball in the first half. Probably the better side but a few mistakes going forward and some key misses and we didn't take advantage of our play.

Come 2nd half I knew and called out we were going to be in trouble after that. You can't be sitting behind after basically firing your best shot. There was always going to be a lull and when it came it killed us.

Even in the first half, Carlton looked a lot more threatening up forward

What do we do from here. We've completely and utterly confirmed we are just not a contender.

Honestly, do we just literally start barracking for losses?

I really don't know what we do from here.

We're in absolute no man's land.

A few cheap wins from here, somehow fluking top 8, maybe still top 4 from here mean absolutely nothing. Winning minor round games is absolutely pointless when you have zero potential to achieve anything beyond that.

It’s one thing that we know he’s completely cooked and can’t run, can’t jump, can’t bend over, but the one thing he can do, that his entire game is built around, wrestling blokes and clunking marks, in no way should be wiped out by his body being cooked and yet we’ve seen his ability to clunk marks has vanished.

That tells me that he’s cooked and he’s switched off mentally.


Zerk thatcher just played not only his worst game for the club but an absolute stinker.

Everyone knows about that game ending turnover but his defence before and after that was absolute puss. Just jogged around and applied zero pressure on guys all night long. The amount of times Mackay or curnow took marks on a player , then you watch the replay and realise that the port player they marked on wasn’t originally their man and it was in fact zerk who ended up ball watching. Foul.


Evans is not afl standard. He’s a list clogger.

Just trial one of the blokes we just drafted. What have we got to lose.

No he doesn’t.. I saw him pull out from numerous contests.. he’s not even remotely competitive..

There was ball to be won at half forward southern end.. where he had the chance to win a footy and got beaten by a more desperate Boyd? Cincotta?.. sums him up..

Before the season I thought we'd finish 10th. When we started with some promise I thought we'd surely be a lock for the eight. Sadly now I think we have another "11-4" season on our hands and will miss the finals, probably by the eight goals we lazily conceded in the last tonight.

Worst part is the way we continually break down when these games go against us and get blown out late. We just lose our way completely.

We regularly get beaten by way too much. The games that should at least end tight, end up blown out.

We're just so mentally weak and collapse so easy in comparison to other sides that fight to the end.

Being a middling team who can make finals but then bomb out means we have wasted years of achieving nothing while also having poor draft picks to deal with. Carlton at least could build something from being cellar dwellers.
